Why do you think your timing is off? Any codes? If I remember when I did my timing the drivers side mark was straight up while the passenger side was at about 11:00 o'clock. But I'm old and my memory does fade a bit. Keep spinning the motor by hand until the marks on the chain line up with the marks on the cams and crank then see if you have jumped a tooth.

Do to the number of sprocket teeth and chain links the colored links do not line up with the sprocket marks every time around. If you lined them up correctly when installed there is no way they can be off now unless something is very Brocken. If I suspected my cams were out of time I would remove the front cover and verify the crank position. Set the colored links to the timing mark on the crank and then set the cam sprockets to the colored links.

I’d say you confirmed the “something is broken” statement. Pull the front cover and see what else is damaged. Consider a complete timing set and follower/lash adjuster set from Ford. A leak down test will tell if you wacked a valve with a piston. :flamingdevil:

Looking more closely at the photos, it appears that the reluctor ring on the driver's side cam phaser is separating from the rest of the phaser. I wouldn't be surprised if the phaser just comes apart the minute you unbolt it from the cam.
A broken phaser would definitely cause all the timing issues you've been experiencing, and multiple broken rockers are a bad sign. That can only happen if the pistons have "kissed" the valves so you'd be a very lucky boy if none of them are bent. As already suggested, you'll need to perform a leak down test to check.

Well I found 5 broken rockers and my cam phaser has come loss from my cam

Oh that sucks bro. I had the keyway dowel bust off of one of my phasers but I caught it before any major damage was done. Hopefully you can fix her back up again without too many difficulties.

In the photos of the valves, it looks like they are slightly off their seats. If the piston on that cylinder is at TDC, the valves are bent and the party is over. Do the leak-down test as suggested.

God damn. I’m sorry, brother. I know you can’t see me, but I winced.

Couple thoughts off the bat (most have been mentioned):

possible causes:
  1. Phaser bolts…. Over torqued during install? Did you reuse the old ones? My money is on this.
  2. Timing chain jumped a tooth during install? Maybe, How many miles did you run it after install? I feel if your timing advanced or retarded, you’d know right away, get a CEL, or immediately experience an engine causality.

inspection:
  1. Valves, you gotta check the valves.
  2. Leak down: even if the valves look good (and I hope they do) it’s worth looking into.
  3. The rest has been discussed.

Again, sorry brother. Keep us in the loop. We can all benefit from your analysis.

Have you considered an engine swap? That would get you back on the road. It will also allow you to pull and wrap your original motor and you will have a motor to build without worrying about rods out the side of your original block. I've thought about an extra motor but haven't started looking yet. Just a thought.
