Doesnt look normal to me for a drive shaft mount. should be a bit of play being a rubber mount but not that much. Never seen a mount fail like that in 12k.

Thanks. More I look into, does not appear that mount is replaceable and I can't even
find the entire DS new from Ford.

Thinking about a carbon fiber DS, only because the DSS one comes with a CV on diff end
and many complain of vibes with one piece alum (most probably due to 3.73 gear, which I don't have).

I have heard of guys stiffening a mount up with certain grades of quality sealant. I done it once with a rav4 rear diff mount and it worked on curing a clunk in it. Driveshaft is a very expensive fix for a defective rubber mount. I used Sikaflex polyurethane sealant that I had in the garage at the time. Its worth a try versus 1000 dollars

I hear ya. My first course of action is to stiffen that up to the point it barely moves and see if vibes over 90 go away (or at least severely reduce). Pretty sure this is it, it's so bad the entire hood shakes at the cowl.

I may even try to take it apart and adapt some aftermarket DS carrier bearing setup like this before going for a new shaft if I can find the correct ID.

But no one seems to sell a stock replacement and I can't find any thread/vid of anyone replacing it on an S197. Starting to wonder if it even comes off, does appear DS unbolts right near that CB setup.

Anyway, I was wrong on the 12K miles, it's actually 10,338 miles :). Not sure why it went bad so fast, but it is another datapoint for those with vibration problems to check out.
