unless things have changed, BAMA did not make adjustments based on multiple data log sessions, so it may not be what you purchased.

I know what I got. YOU DON'T! As an Administrator/Super Moderator is it your job to talk down to everyone who doesn't agree with you? In the future if I ever happen to post on this forum again, please stay away. Thank you.................

Dave is it? I can't help but think you might be one of those people who is bigger A-hole in person than on line. If you were literate enough to read my original post, I asked (I thought) nicely not to tell me to 'get a V8'. Yet there you were. I'm now probably banned from the forum, but I can probably live just fine without it. But I can see your point.......why drive a V6 with nasty throttle lag when you can upgrade to a V8 with the same issue. One trick pony!

So, how's it running with that Bama special?

I'm only running the 87 race tune til I get the tank down to fumes and I can put some 93 in. The throttle lag is basically gone. I can finally get that little throttle blip/rev match when I double clutch 3rd to 2nd. It pulls way harder 3 grand to redline and even sounds a little better doing it. It's made the ignition parts I put on before: Accel coil, JBA wires, NGK Iridium plugs, come alive. The MGW shifter is the icing on the cake. I can't wait to get the 93 race tune running, and I don't care what the gas costs.

To all you guys that offered sincere thoughts and advice..........thanks. If I'm still around when I get the 93 race tune installed, I'll post a butt dyno test and maybe some 0-60 numbers. Happy 4th of July to all. It's still America!!

Can't wait to hear about the improved tune you receive after you run a few pulls on the 93 race tune and provide the data logs to bama.

Could be groundbreaking.

one specially done based on data logs from your individual vehicle, typically done on a dyno or with street driving.

But if you have a stock engine aren't they pretty much the same? Tuning a 4.0 is not the same as a Coyote or even a Cyclone 3.7. The 4.0 is not a performance engine and will get little from any tune. What they want is to fix the lagging throttle and maybe boosting the shifts a bit if it is an auto. For that a "canned" tune should be fine. Just saying....
P.S I used a canned Bama tune on my 3.7 for years and it was better than stock and never caused any codes or problems. I have since switched to MPT and they are the kings of the Cyclone and it shows. No data logging either, the tunes seemed right on to me from the start.

I've got an '05 4.0 5sp with 25K originals. Anybody put a Bama or Accel tune on one? I'm mainly trying to get rid of the throttle lag......which is HORRIBLE! Would I be OK with a Sprint Booster and call it a day? And don't tell me to swap for a GT!!!!!!

literacy seems to your isssue numb nuts, as I didn’t suggest you swap for a GT, as you asked, if you don’t like the responses form guys with 10 years plus experience in the platform, well that’s your problem. Bama tunes have proven disappointing to users since the founder, Doug, sold it to AM and left, but hey enjoy man.

I don't always agree with everyone on here Mailman but I'm a newbie who just rebuilt a 08 S197 V6 stick car that had throttle response issues. I'm glad to see that the Mods on here respond on an average 7 times a day. It means there is help for us guys that are new to the S197, not that we don't have 50 years of car experience. Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and ask for some help. I go radio silent and come up for air when I need to. I'm glad the forum is here and some of these guys are a real treasure. Lurking can gain you lots of critical data without getting into a pissing contest or an ego battle. Just some food for thought from another V6 driver. Enjoy your ride and post your progress, I'll be reading them myself.

I did Torrie at Unleashed Tuning using HP Tuners. Very happy. Catted 4.6 w/ Roush m90, large TB and small pulley. Still some work to do. I have some early KR. Suspect false knock. Need to do some verification before I turn it up more.
