I disconnected the maf and the car continued to idle poorly and then died when reconnected..As for my LTFTS, LTFT1 was at -25% and LTFT2 was at 25%. SHRTFT1 was switching from -11.7 to -13.3 repeatedly. SHRTFT2 was mostly sitting at 14.8 but would sometimes go to 18. I didn’t do my spark plugs, I had a shop replaced all the things I’ve mentioned before, but now I am getting an ignition coil code for 5 different coils even though they are two weeks old.

As I said in post #3, your engine's running rich on bank 1 and lean on bank 2, so you should look for a vacuum leak on the driver's side. Bank 1 is simply running rich as it's trying to compensate for the lean condition on the other bank.

I have a 05 GT that recently started running kind of rough. I replaced sparkplugs, coil packs and now injectors. It runs decent when I get on it, it's just the idle that's really bad and the engine is shaking a lot. I pulled codes and it told me system 1 is too rich and system 2 is too lean. It's also popping at idle.. What can cause this issue? any help is appreciated.

Did you do any work to it (any changes at all, replace anything/clean anything/disconnect/reconnect anything; no matter how minor) prior to the change in how it's running? I usually find that 90% of the things that come up on my steed are due to adds/moves/changes or something I've done. The other 10% are electrical; changes over time/items just wear out; or something I've forgotten (again, caused by me).

Just finished dealing with an electrical water pump issue for the heat exchanger. Took me an hour to nail down the true reason why it wasn't running (thought I had a bad pump). Turns out the body ground for the pump had developed corrosion and wasn't making a good ground connection even though my meter indicated I had +12v at the pump and good continuity to ground. Took the ground apart, cleaned it; added a little dielectric grease and put in a new pump (had bought one since early indications were it was going bad (now I have a spare and ~$250 poorer for the experience)). Well, at least she's all back in running order. I can tell you IAT's will skyrocket when your HE pump isn't running.

I'm betting 4 thread Antonio no-show figured out his problem.

This symptom has been commonly known to happen after a clutch swap or exhaust mod that requires the mid-pipe to be pulled. WHY? The O2 sensor harness gets swapped because it can reach either side and the person in a hurry does not take the time to mark his connections before pulling them apart. The result is that data from front O2-1 is now used to control fueling to bank 2 and data from front O2-2 is providing for fueling to bank 1. The result is a rich condition on one bank and a lean condition on the other bank. This generates two CEL codes and causes a rough idle and runnning condition.

If this were MAF/TB/FP related the issue would be common to both sides either running lean or rich rather than one side rich and the other side lean. If it were mechanical (ie head gasket) one side would be rich/lean and the other side would be fine. If it were an O2 sensor bad again it would be only with respect to the one side. If it were FI or plug related you would have issues related to cylinder misfire and not the entire bank lean/rich.

I believe that there is more to this story than what Antonio has shared. If I were a betting man, there was a modification performed that involved pulling the mid-pipe and disconnecting the O2 sensors. They were improperly reconnected afterward causing this issue. It's been known to happen to guys.

I did say I switched the mid-pipe a month prior to the issues in one of my recent comments. Swapped the old offroad x pipe for a catted x pipe. I'll see if the o2 sensors are connected properly.

If you ever need to disconnect both O2 sensor harnesses again to remove the midpipe, remember to label each harness bank 1 (right, passenger) and bank 2 (left, driver) respectively so that you don't get them mixed up when it's time to reconnect them. It's easy to make that mistake when both harnesses are long enough to reach the opposite side.

Had you provided full information about what led up to the issue rather than waiting for almost 2 weeks I would not have dubbed you no-show-antonio. Further had you provided full disclosure to what led up to the issue, what mods are on the car, and how old the car is, and you would have returned sooner than 2 weeks later you may also be driving around in a good running car by now.

As for your current problem N.S.A., you created that as well. Maybe now you have not only learned the importance of marking things before you disconnect, but you have also learned not to plug/unplug things you know little about while the car is running.

Why I bother I do not know. But here goes and then I am done. Check F1.40, F1.42 and F1.47. They are in the BEC. Ask someone else what BEC means. These fuses are common to the voltage bus that feeds the COP's and MAF sensor. Hopefully that is all it is. Otherwise you may have cooked your PCM.

Sorry to hijack somebody else's thread but how many 02 sensors are there on a 06 4.6 engine? I can only find the passenger side one upstream of the cat last day I had the car on the lift drivers side wasnt in that same location and no holes in the pipe where it should go.

There should be four O2 sensors.
Driver's side: one in exhaust manifold collector and the other in downstream end of the cat.
Passenger side: one in downpipe coming off the exhaust manifold and the other in downstream end of the cat.

I had a shop put on my mid-pipe. I didn’t put it on myself so I wouldn’t have known if it was plugged in incorrectly. I don’t know what your issue is but thanks for the help.

Dont worry Antonio. this is the second time ive seen this guy post in a topic I'm watching or participating in and twice his Rudeness and contempt to other members is unjustified. Thanks Dino for your advice so i have to go hunting to see where they went to:( And i wont hijack your thread again Antonio.

the "issue" is to show respect for the efforts of others putting forth effort to assist you. this includes providing information more than just the symptom in the opening post of the thread. all too often as in your case something was done to the car prior to the issue arising. providing all of the information that led up to the problem, the age of the car, the mods on the car all help to expedite a resolve. your participation in responding promptly when others have taken time out of their lives to assist you is a sign of respect for their efforts. doddling around for 11 days after people have offered assistance or asked questions to provide a better resolve is not showing respect for their time and effort. it only shows that you only care about yourself and your own time. no one gets paid here to help others. many are here to learn and give back. some are only here to take. some expect the answer to be easy when its not. if the shoe fits where it. im not a bit sorry if your feelings are hurt. be more respectful of the effort others put forth to help you. other people learn from threads that are followed up on. its not just about you.

Where do you see that he had a shop put on a mid-pipe?

That seems to be kinda important now don’t it?

Redfirepearlgt is right. There are common sense forum rules here, and on other sites , to show respect and courtesy when asking for help. If you can’t follow those rules, fix it yourself.
When I had a problem with my fuel gauge, Refirepearlgt supplied A LOT of quick and thorough answers to my electrical questions. He had no “issues “ to my descriptions, photos, and timely replies because I didn’t make him guess or wait. I also expressed my gratitude for the help I received. Without it, I would have had to pay a shop or dealer.

Yes Antonio did make vital mistakes of leaving out important info Laga and always should thank for any help he has got. Redfirepearlgt I apologise, suppose I'm still reeling a bit from your post in the last thread. Guess I will have to get used to the way you do business.

Update - I took the car to a local performance shop and they checked all wiring and everything was fine. They did a compression test and cylinder 2 had no compression due to a broken valve spring. They put in a new valve spring and now the cars running like a beast.

Redfire, I understand where you're coming from, and I left vital information out. In other posts, I did list my mods and such, but I felt it wasn't needed here. I really do appreciate you and everyone else taking the time out of their day to try and help me out. I'll try to do better with replying more frequently.

Hate to rain on your parade, but if one valve spring broke, I would seriously consider replacing them all.
