Driving to work today in a torrential downpour and I start to hear an accentuated dripping different from the rain. What the fuck is that? I look over to my passenger side footwell and of course, it's full of water. I've always garage kept my Bullitt so I never thought to clean out my drain where the air filter is. "I'll check it one of these days, but I'm sure it's fine" is what I always told myself. Well, today was the day! Instead of unplugging it in the comfort of my garage, I got to do it in the parking lot in the rain. You know what they say about "putting off tomorrow what you can do today". Maybe I'll learn that lesson some day. Lol!

"drains"? There's more than 1? Cabin air filter is definitely on the to-do list.

The other drain is low on the fire wall on the driver's side. Attached is a TSB in case your leak is coming from one of the other problem areas.

Yes. There is a drain on each side behind each cylinder head.

Not quite that far over. Should be able to see both though. Don't be surprised if you end up with a good puddle on the ground when you pull it though.

I’ll see your clogged cowl panel vent leaking into the interior through the cabin air filter and raise you a water logged SJB.

I thought the leaking issues only pertained to the Convertibles. At least the prior post on leaks I've read dealt with convertible's and it was the exact problem. So far, no leaks and I've driven in some pretty good downpours.

My car is a 2008 and I thought perhaps Ford had gotten that issue conquered by time the 2008 came out. What year is your Bullitt?

Convertible top leak is a different concern. This leak is under the windshield cowl, there are drain plugs that get clogged. When the water has nowhere to go, it finds it's way through the evap housing.

86GT351. We were talking the area and was a problem coming out of the design, causing the leak. I never had the problem so figured Ford came up with a solution by time the 2008 was manufactured.

The driver's side cowl drain is almost directly under the windshield wiper motor. Mine had barely anything in it.

Anyway- I've got clear cowl drains, replaced the cowl panel grommets AND replaced the door seals (on the trim piece above the windows- on the body) and I still have water getting into my car. I guess the one good thing is that I pitched all the (water logged) factory sound deadener a couple years ago when I had to fix the floor pan, so at least the water doesn't just sit there forever-it does evaporate after a few days.

You might want to pull out the plastic fender liner on the driver's side and check the condition of the seal between the fender and the door hinge pillar.

Maybe time to stuff some paper towels at all of the likely entry points and take it to a car wash. That should at least help you narrow it down. Dealer used black silicone on the passenger side of my son's car.

I had water on the pass side floor....on my 2010 GT. Pulled BOTH of those rubber drain plugs out..and tossed em. Out came gallons of water. Problem solved.
