Hey guys, im running the 315/35/20 nitto invos on my rears as of now but they are pretty much bold at this point, im looking for a replacement, any input is very welcome. I actually liked the way invos drove on the street, they are pretty soft and grip is somewhat there, but maybe there are better options? I looked into 4s (kinda very pricy), Eagle f1 supercar 3 (not r) - heard some mixed opinions, indy 500s and some others, but cant make up my mind lol.
What im looking for: Mostly street driving, canyon runs, no drag strips, maybe track once or twice a year. 470 wheel hp car
315/35/20 or 305/35/20 both should be fine, invos run super wide so everything should fit from those
Thanks in advance

I have the Indy 500s. Decent tire for the price but I'll be prying the wallet open further when it's time to replace them. The Supercar 3 is my current front-runner. Everything I've read points to them being pretty much perfect for an occasionally tracked street car. What are the negatives you've seen? I'm also considering going full send with something like a Bridgestone RE-71RS. I don't put enough miles on my car for treadwear to be much of a factor though.

To be honest I think you would be better off getting a smaller tire. That tire is two wide for those rims especially with the low profile. If you had more sidewall height it might work. You need another 2"-3" for those tires to lay flat. You'll get a better contact patch and more solid cornering. But on that note, if wet weather traction is not in the mix, I would go with Toyo Proxe R888.

I have 20x11s on the back, 315/35 invos fit perfect there with no rubbing - side wall is kinda huge actually considering how wide the tire is. I was looking at r888, but if im not mistaken they dont make 20s, only r888 R has 20s but i cant justify 650$ pricetag on 100 tread wear on the car that i drive almost everyday lol. My eyes are pretty stuck on pilot sport 4s at this point. Thanks for the input tho!

With 11" wide rims on the rears, 305 /315 mm tires would work good.

I have 305-35-19 MPSS on a 19 x10 rims..and it's a dead loss..wasted effort. The actual tread is a tiny bit wider than my 285-40-18" on a 18 x10 rim. My 285-40-18's on a 18x10 rim, the actual tread width is exactly 1/4" wider than my (stored for now) 275-40-18's on a 18 x 10 rim. The 275's on the 10" wide rim, the 10" rim is 1/2" wider than the 9.5"...'measuring width'. They worked superb on the front, being stretched by 1/2". I also tried 275-40-18's on a 18 x 9" rim (minimum width rim)..and that combo was a complete dead loss.... mounted on the front. Steering was un-responsive..and rubbery. Apples + Oranges when they were mounted to the wider 10" rim.

Ideally, for rears, you want a rim that's at least the recommended width ('measuring width'). And preferably 1/2" wider.

Stick with your 11" wide rims..and just find a suitable 305/315 tire to match. Check the data 1st though. You might find the 315's on a 11" rim are a miniscule amount wider than a 315 on the same 11" rim.

Sorry bro, I got you mixed up with the other tire thread and the 9.5" wide rims

I run the Pilot 4S on my daily. pretty decent tire, no complaints.

Not yet enough experience here to provide tire recommendations, however I’m very curious what the offset is on 20x11 rears to fit the 315/35/20’s? Your setup looks perfect!! Do you have any rubbing issues and are you lowered(it looks like you are)? I’m guessing about a 56mm offset?

The offset on a Forgestar CF5 series 20x11 for an S197 vehicle is +56mm. Its all on the wheel websites. AM has plenty of wheels that provide all of the specs for this information. It simply takes few minutes and some initiative to look it up. Velgen and Vossen have good fitment on their wheels. Likewise so does American Racing and TSW. Rohanna has a tendency to cater to the ""poke out look". All you have to stress to someone when speaking to them (that is the best way to assure you get what you want) is tell them you do not want the car looking all "Joe Dirt" with the wheels poking out past the body edge. The taller the tire the more risk you have of rubbing as well as wider. However as long as you follow tire width compliance you will be fine. I run a 305-35-20 on Forgestar 20x11's. That is the recommended rim size (not a min or max size). The tire mounts square and doesn't pooch.

I ran KMC Districts 20x10.5 +52mm rear on a previous 17 and 14 model. Miss those wheels. Wish I had never parted with them. They aren't made in machined with silver any longer and looked great. Vossen specs +52mm on all of their S197 and S550 setups for a 10.5. A 305-30-20 fit fine on a 20x10.5 as did a 305-35-20. However a 315-30-20 standardly needs an 11 min to fit. I use Nitto and Mickey Thompson charts for tire - rim fitment. Never had an issue.

I call a tire store, tell them what I want, tell them they are going on a given wheel bought for the car adn they mount them. Never had an issue. The Forgestars were the tightest fitment and after lowering the car, alignment of the body with an adj. panhard was required to recenter. There was no wiggle room. Good luck.

It's a very tight fit. I run 20x10.5 CF5's in the rear with 295/35/20, going up to 305s this time.

My dad sat there for an hour or so staring at my car one day and kept asking me, "how do those tires not rub?", "are you sure that doesn't rub?" lol

Tanks so much for all your feedback!! I already have the 20x11, w/+55 OS, gloss black version of Shelby CS2’s. I’m just hoping: 1. The OS gets me where I need to be to stuff the 315/35/20 in there wo rubbing. I’m lowered about 1.5”. 2. The 20” gloss black wheels look good on Torch Red GT500. This is also a big concern of mine but I found these wheels very cheap and figured I could use them for drag radials on strip days... if the do not look good.

20x11 +55 is what i have, pair in mind i run nitto invo as of now 315/35/20 and they tend to run a bit narrower than said MT in the same size - i have no rubbing while driving and fitment is perfect, however on big bumps it does rub sometimes. My car is very low that has to be mentioned, i barelly clear speed bumps, and suspension is very stiff. I picked up MT street comp 305/35/20 and will be replacing nittos with them thos week- just to be on safer side.

Thanks for confirming that your +55 .. same as my new ones. Gives me confidence to go with the 315/35/20’s!! I’ll post a photo on this thread when I get them on the car, but it’ll be 2-3 weeks.
