As I recall, when man switched from horse drawn wagons the major successful transportation method was the steam engine and then the next major fuel change was to oil and by-products. Hybrid cars are in current use with a move to electric cars growing all the time.

I’m old but try to keep an open mind and not resist change. Thus, I have begun modifying my 2008 Mustang Convertible to a Hybrid. This isn’t cheap but I hope to build a bridge between the muscle car owners and those wanting to do away with the combustion engine.

There must be available programs through the government where they can financially help me with developing my ideas. That, and a “Go Fund Me” account. My idea works but has its limits: so far, I can only reach the end of my driveway. It appears I need a greater investment in electric extension cords.

As you can see by the photograph, I am working on a Hydroplane concept. Downside you may need a convertible.

I admit I don't know a lot about computers and thought I had deleted the above post. I was still considering if this was a proper post for this form. This morning I saw several posts that some had "liked" the post.

There is so much stress and crazy things going on, every once and awhile I try to deliver a smile to everyone.

After seeing the "likes" I regret I didn't have a booth at the new Mustang debut in Detroit.

I love it. Maybe we can put our ideas together. I have one of those flashlights that charge by shaking it. I figure if we mount 2376 of them to your car we might get it beyond your driveway. More data is needed. And really bad roads.

Integrate them into the shock absorbers.

I can help some with the research and development. I live up on a mountain with a super bumpy road. We are making progress. Your ideas would get me beyond my driveway down to the paved highway. New problem.

I actually thought of that. There's already a patent on it.

I had heard that they were, at least, experimenting with shocks that work similar to an eddy current dyno, in Indy cars. I don't think that it would be specifically for the purpose of generating electricity. I did some prototype testing on linear generators a while back and the linear velocity, compared to a rotary generator, just isn't there. A sample, 3-phase 2.4KW rotary generator I had for comparison, has windings with a mean diameter 11 inches. At 350 RPM, the windings have a surface feet velocity of 1,007.9 per minute or 201.6 inches per second of sustained motion. Considering the acceleration, deceleration, direction change..., the output of linear generators are IMHO not feasible.

If you ever used one of those flashlights, you know that working for extended periods of time, broken down on the side of the road, your arm will look like https://images.app.goo.gl/cYxzKZZmCdBQn5jY9

I've got one of those damn things. It's better than nothing, but not by much. Fortunately, the first time I used it in an emergency, I came to appreciate all the years of practice I had at using the thing. I just wish my eyesight wasn't so bad.
