i've got the 2005 prints and main shop manual on paper. Glad to shoot you page photos if you need anything in that regard. Just curious why you didn't look into a salvage S550 ecoboost swap. Not an S550 fan aside from the improved engines. They look great in S197's. LOL!

BTW I think I can see the 2 pin plug in that first photo in reply #18.
I may take you up on that offer! Thanks. and to answer your question on an S550, it just boiled down to cost. I was literally just looking for a 05-09 GT with a manual trans as a doner and found this 2012. Started looking at the GT level suspension, 305 HP and six speed and the price and decided on this one. If I would have found a great deal on an S550 I would have considered that!

I managed to get the carpet from a fox body into a commercial washing machine at the local laundromat. Worked out very well.
I never thought about that! LOL. I took the carpet to the car wash and blasted it with hot soapy water and then a high pressure rinse. I'll see if that improved it any after it dries!

Looks like I will have to swap the fuel tank. The pumps have different plug connectors and the pumps themselves won't interchange. Shouldn't be hard to swap it with the exhaust and driveshaft out.

I am hoping I won't have to repin anything but it might come to that on some things. 40 hours on a harness would fry my brain!

Resistor Cap
I did some research. I found that Ford sells the resistor cap, or
Ford Side Airbag Light Eliminator Plug, Mustang 2005-2007 Ford Part #: XF2Z-14B022-AA.
https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-si...KGdfXeUk88A_JlyhlD1G13bNzQzKTfmhoCIWoQAvD_BwE
My 2007 seats has them from the factory. However, the resistance for the 05-07 is too high. The 2012 should only be 2 ohms and my 07 resistors are about 7 ohms. Anyway, I found a video online of a guy cutting open the Ford resister cap/plug and taking out the OEM resistor and replacing it with a 2 ohm. So thanks for the info, I will try to do this mod!
For others reference, I also learned that the 4th digit of the VIN will indicate if the 05-07 had the optional side airbags (standard in 2008 and up). if the 4th digit is an "F" it doesn't have the optional side airbags and if the 4th digit is an "H" then it has the optional side airbags. Mine is an "F" so confirming no optional side airbags.

I am going to the Holley Ford Fest this weekend in Bowling Green and then to Biloxi for Cruising The Coast next week so I may not get much more done until I return. I only have a couple hours a night to work on it and the days are getting shorter! I really need a huge garage! Anyway, I should be able to get the wiring harness completely out of the car Thursday or Friday (I hope). I have to work late the next couple nights so Thursday will probably be the soonest I can get back at it. I am taking my Lightning this weekend so I also need to clean it up really good!

I wanted to document some more aspects of the swap. The 2012 tail lights, third brake light and trunk latch is all different. The 07 deck lid harness unplugs from the body harness but the 12 doesn't. The 07 uses a plunger to pop open the deck lid while the 12 uses a spring loaded arm. Those appear to be interchangeable. The latch itself appears to be interchangeable as well but the 12 doesn't have a key/lock. The plug/connector is different as well. And the lights are a lot different! I'm not sure if I can make the LED bulbs work in the 07 housings or if I will just have to cut and splice the 07 connectors. I am guessing I will need to at least convert to LED bulbs for the 07 sockets since they draw less.

Don't be afraid to swap the ABS over to the new body. I have converted non abs Mustangs many times. You have everything you need in the donor

I got the headliner out, I had to remove the plastic around the rear side windows. Make sure you unplug the rear window defroster before pulling those out! I learned the hard way...

I also unplugged the door harness on the passenger side. Not an easy task. I couldn't find anything online on how to do it so it was trial and error. You have to pull back the rubber to access a clip top and bottom so the whole plug can pull out of the car. Then you squeeze the plug to allow the lever to flip. Then you can pull the plug. I had trouble figuring out how to do it but fortunately I had removed the fender from the wrecked 12 and that allowed me to see better. It's pretty easy with fender off but know how to it makes it possible with fender on.
