Has anyone swapped out the factory setup that utilizes the metal heater core pipes that bolt to the back of the block and just used hoses straight to the firewall and back? What would be the downfall of this? (I'm assuming Ford designed this additional volume for a reason) My block is tapped for 1/2 npt coming out of the water pump instead of the factory press in nipple, I had planned on doing a 1/2 npt to -10 adapter and just plumbing all -10 an lines and eliminating all factory lines underneath the manifold. Thoughts?

My heater hoses have been reconfigured as the Whipple manifold includes the heat exchanger for the intercooler. Can't remember exactly how but one of my hoses runs over the top of my engine from the firewall to the front of the block and into my crossover. They are just hoses. You can replace them anyway you want as long as the water flows and exits where it is supposed to.
