Replaced the upper radiator mount that I scavenged off the 13. At this point it's all just tacked together but all of the front end parts fit well. Now to disassemble it all again, welderup and do some touch up painting. Then reassemble.

The existing GT500 hood that was on the car is basically junk. I’m going to try to repair it later as well as the front bumper cover.

My first time to ever change a rad. support in one of these cars. It’s coming out good and everything fits.

Had to do a bit of body work on the left head light bucket even on this donor part, but it came out pretty good.

My replacement hood has a bullet hole right through it. Anybody got any ideas on a good fix for repairing this aluminum hood.

Looks like a shotgun slug or large caliber (.308)?

I personally would trash the hood, but bondo will fill those holes.

I probably will, but the GT500 style that came off the car is worse. So for now I need to use this one until I can find another one or get the other fixed. But for now I have to use the bullet hole hood. May just leave it as is for now, for conversation.

Turn that area into a vent. Make a matching one on the other side

Yeah…I’m trying to keep this build kind of simple.

If it didn’t have the exit hole right in the middle of the front, something like that may not be too hard.

I know a guy that does aluminum welding, I’ll try to get a piece welded over the hole and then body work it. Hopefully it’s a temp hood anyway.

Got a lot done on the Black Horse last night. This is the first vehicle I ever owned that I “identified” is as a male. I don’t know why, it just seems masculine to me. But, I haven’t gotten to know him well enough to learn his name. So, for now he is the horse with no name!

Anyway, back to the progress.
I got all of the plug welding done on the front rad support, grinding done, painting of components as needed. Then put the fenders and bumper cover back on. It looks pretty good for the use of a bunch of used body panels. He will be a daily driver eventually for either me or my wife, so doesn’t have to be perfect, for now anyway.

Was thinking about the ducting in the hood and would be a cool idea, but by the time you spent the time to make the pieces with the aluminum welding involved(of which I don’t do), might as well just by one. I did look at the trajectory of the shot that was fired through the hood. Either the person that fired the gun was a midget, or was lying on the ground or the hood was in the raised position when the shot was fired.

Made some good progress on the ‘Horse with No Name’! Modified the 2005 K-member to accept the 14 R&P and got it re-installed. Came out pretty good.

Horse with no name is up and running.

Headed to auto x event this morning to try it out. Ought to be a good shake down.

Well, the auto x shake down went well. No real problems arose other than the front struts were bottoming out through a couple of spots. Of course it was a terrible surface.

Granddaughter was impressive for her first time out and had a blast.

There is a problem with the heater/ac controls and radio though. Looks like it’s time to replace it.

Almost completed my Dynavin head unit.

Have 2 things to figure out:

How to make the 2nd (front) camera work?

How to connect a 3rd usb.
