Hello, I have decided to upgrade my 2010 V6
Mustang with a 5.0 Coyote taken from a donor 2011-14 GT.

Can anybody *please* provide me with anything of the following:

1) A guide containing steps on how to do it (I am aware of a YouTube series chronicling the entire process, unfortunately the specialty parts from PHB performance don't ship to Europe)

2) a list of required parts and perhaps where I can find them(except the V8 and the transmission of course)

3) Anything which would help me to achieve this.

What I don't need is advice like:

1) "Sell your V6, buy a V8", no can do, this is my first ever car, I want to upgrade it, I don't ever plan on reselling it, also see point 3 regarding the import costs

2) "Don't do it", thanks, but if I didn't want to do it I wouldn't have made this post.

3) "It costs a lot, just save the money, keep your old V6 and buy a new V8", gladly, but even though $10-13k I plan to spend on this swap might be enough or a large portion of a newer V8, because of my country's strict laws regarding CO2 emissions,, the import taxes would end up costing roughly 50% of the bought car's value, making the swap actually worth it

I actually have an offer to have it done by someone else for 13k(with their parts), but my uncle (a mechanic) offered to do it himself for free, if I could compile a list of needed parts and steps, and he even said that 13k seems a little too much and to try and get the parts myself, which is why I made this post

It is quite a project but if you have a donor car and not just an engine it can be done. I suggest you look at this thread where a 4.0 V-6 was swapped for a 3.7. Much of the same principles apply. You will need to swap the rear axle too. 2010 V-6's have a 7" axle that will not handle the HP of a Coyote. Good luck with your project.

There are two ways to do this swap.
Swap everything from the donor car. All harnesses and computers, dash, interior. This is the "easy" way.
Swap only the engine, transmission, 8.8 rear end with the coyote pcm and wire it into the existing body harness. This is definitely more complex, but you end up with a "cleaner" swap IMO.
I bought factory parts for a 2013.
AC will need a custom low pressure hose.
Tuning is a must, not as much for power, but entering the correct transmission ratios for example.
This swap is well documented here in a couple of threads.

10k quote is reasonable if it includes trans and rear end. I spent more on parts alone. But about 4500 of it was magnum xl trans and aluminum driveshaft. Labor was just my time

I do plan on using a donor car. Does it have the axle?
Yes all Coyote Mustangs have the 8.8 axle and Cyclone 3.7 V-6 Mustangs 2011 and newer do too. Since your 2010 already has the new interior you probably can just swap the wiring harness/PCM from the donor car entirely. The V6 swap in my link had an older interior and required him to swap the entire dash.

Easiest way to do it in your situation is to buy a wrecked donor car if you can find one and swap everything over.
