    Brain teaser time!

and/or a seized caliper piston, the brake disc should push the piston back, but it doesn't do it enough. I would measure and compare the L/R disc temperature after driving a few miles in the city

Lower control arm snapped while reversing - 06 GT

    That's what I think also.

Lower control arm snapped while reversing - 06 GT

Sorry for the question, I'm afraid I have brainfog, you grind the lower hole in the strut to a long shape and the eccentric washer pushes against the border of the strut for adjustment?

    2006 Hood Scope Identification

You can get some good looking universal plastic or metall mesh grill inserts and glue it inside.

Lower control arm snapped while reversing - 06 GT

The more I think about it, I agree. It depends on the precision of the manufacturing process, if the bushing and joint is exactly on the same position as from the Ford factory. If not you get changes in toe/camber/caster.

Lower control arm snapped while reversing - 06 GT

I found a Ford eccentric bolt kit, the bigger bolt is for the strut and the smaller goes where? (I want to change the arms in winter storage, the hydro bushing has lots of surface cracks) Without these bolts no alignment shop will do anything here and the toe I can adjust myself...

Lower control arm snapped while reversing - 06 GT

When I see this picture, I noticed that there are long holes at the hydro bushing. Does that means that you have to go to an alignment shop when you change the arms? Caster is changed?

2008 GT Tail Light Wiring Question

Compared to the Europe conversion it is clean. I have two waste bulbs dangling behind the tail lights.

    Just purchased 2008 Mustang GT

Welcome from Germany. My best mods are noise dampening and undertray aerodynamic plates. I wish I did them in the first month. No one needs air and tire noise on the Autobahn. Next is sway bars and the rear LCAs with spherical PU bushings. The BamaV2 tunes are totally fine and the tunes for...

2005 4.6 GT Ford Racing CAI

The gray/green filter was an oiled fiber type and can be cleaned like the K&N. The K&N filter oil should have UV dye in it so that you can control the equal distribution, sadly not.

    S197 suspension motion ratios

AFAIK the 11+ has changed front LCA geometry (beside bigger ball joint) and longer rear UCA (don't know if the angle is the same)

    S197 suspension motion ratios

Just a reminder, the 2011+ has become some different geometry front and rear, so if you find some values online compare the build years.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Found a rust spot, interestingly identical rust spot on the other side at the rear window. Put phosphoric acid rust converter on it and will paint it.

Delay is a good observation, that is the only car I had with this behavior.

    Took the self tuning leap

Yes, if you shift from 1->2->3...... It is on the factory tune and all other tuner tunes I had. The S550 does the same.

    Took the self tuning leap

Annoying and unique "feature" of the manual transmission is that you cannot release the gas pedal and press the clutch simultaneously as all other cars I drove before. If you do this the engine revs up by it own, so release first, then press clutch. No idea why.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Yes, it is an aluminum core with plastic coating hold by snap fasteners. Pull from front and end and they pop out.

What have you done to your mustang today?

I removed the roof side trim and cleaned underneath. Oh boy can't believe how much dirt and mud was below. And the rubber to the windshield had big gaps where the water can run into it. I sealed it with RTV now and will spray everything with rust protection wax tomorrow. Hopefully it is not too...

    Storage for winter

Good storage for a battery is 0°C, fully charged on a slow tumble shaker ;) This acidic story was probably true in 1960th, all oils are pH buffered, called basic reserve. Regarding this "attacking metals", according to the van't-Hoff rule, the chemical reaction velocity doubles with increase of...

    Storage for winter

Put the vent selector to 0. Open the doors before you disconnect the battery to use the short drop and close the doors after. Put a dry bag (e.g. from Louis motorcycle) inside. If the car is cool and dry, no need to do this. The fully charged disconnected battery lasts 6 month easily if cool...
