Obsolete from Ford. When available they did sold as separate pieces, for example the rocker stripe for one side would come as one part number, over the top stripes in separate sections.
You would be better off with something around +45 or more to tuck it to the inside further. Otherwise depending on the ride height of the car you might be in to massaging the fender lips/
In Canada, for the Motorcraft synthetic product line Ford dropped 5W20 a few years ago and told us to use the 0W20 as a replacement. For winter use in Canada I’d say go for it.
The way the Ford parts catalogue works, what you’re looking for may be in a few different sections. If your local dealer isn’t helpful then maybe try one of the dealers who have an online parts store, and start looking their diagrams and listings.
255/45R18 is fine for 8.5” wheels too, and matches closely with the diameter to the factory 235/50R18. When my friend’s 08 Bullitt needed new skins that’s the size we got for him. Yes 9” would be ideal but for street use the 255/45 is fine on 8.5”.
Hopefully someone in the aftermarket sells them … I just logged in to the Ford parts catalogue, and from them you could only buy them with the upper intake, no separate service part.
16” was the base size on V6 cars until 2010, they will be fine. Use 215/65R16 winter tires, and the OD of them will match with your factory 18”. Smaller wheel + taller sidewall = same OD. Later cars had bigger front brakes that needed 17” or larger wheels to clear.
Not correct. S550 & 650 use M14 nuts, S197 are 1/2”. The factory S197 wheel nuts will be fine on the S650 wheels, the tapered area of the lug nut seats are similar shape and size.
Not absolutely required. If you go wth an H or V rating you’ll be fine. For a bit more chunkiness on the stock wheels you can switch to 255/45R18 all around which will be approx. 3/4” wider, and very close in overall diameter.
Are you talking about the attachment point to the chassis for the rack housing? When I look at the Ford parts catalogue, just seeing hard mounting points with no bushings (or at least not a separate bushing available as an OEM part).
FWIW, about 5(?) years ago, maybe a bit longer, Ford replaced the original cage style nuts with the one piece nylock nut as a replacement part for the front spindles. The same nut fits a bunch of Ford applications on the front, and some IRS rear hub nuts too. Current part # W710084-S439...
Indy 500s are an older tire now but still a good value. I ran them for a while on the 17 GT PP I had a few years ago, as well as on an SVO. I’d use them again on certainly vehicles, but IMO a GT500 deserves better tires.
+28 offset is not enough on a 10” wheel to stay inside the front fenders on that car. A 10” should have at least +35, and could be up to +45. I have 18x10” +40 Apex wheels for track use on my 12, they are a nice fit.
My old 07 GT that I bought from a friend had a hitch he’d installed, I want to say it was a DrawTite. No issues, it was used for hauling a small tire trailer for track days.
Are you swapping rotors too? The S550 6-piston calipers are made to go over 15” rotors, not the 14” that the S197 Brembo setup used. I’d say that the main concern might be the diameter of inner barrel of that wheel if you’re trying to put it over 15” brakes. Not all 19” wheels fit over brakes...
It’s going to depend on the shape of the backside of the wheel spokes plus the depth of the mounting pad to the hub. What offset are the wheels? Higher offset wheels tend to have a slimmer mounting pad which reduces the space available for 4-piston calipers.
