    Simply, it involves pulling the radio and popping it open to expose the CD wiring connector. Just unplug the CD wire harness from circuit board. Reinstall and good to go. About a 40 minute job start to finish. Google it for pictures on how to remove radio.

    I know of a workaround for the Shaker500 radio. It defeats the shuffling of the CD drive.

    Yep, had issue as well with '86 ragtop. Was brake light wiring that passed thru spoiler to inside of trunk that was the leak. Sealed up and remained dry.

    About the only thing to do is yes, remove the radio from dash, open up the bottom and unplug the CD ribbon wire harness which deletes the CD feature. All other functions will work, just reinstall and good to go. There are many good utube vids showing how to remove radio. I was "really"...

    Well, it seems to be "hunting" or "shuffling" the CD rack after you lock the car and leave, which drains the battery. The message screen will say: CD error. I've tried a couple of goggle tips without success (hold #1 & #6) scroll thru & reset. Most of the time will driving, the radio acts ok...
