    For Sale-coilovers & wheels/tires

Got rid of the mustang so these parts are just taking up space, great parts for someone wanting to get more serious about autocross or track days. Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana Will not ship the wheel&tire sets as of right now. AST 4150 coilovers $1800 +shipping -single adjustable/rebound...

Scca CAM class on s197 + more power

No interest in esp nationally and no need for these nice parts for just a street cruiser that might or might not see anymore autocross. I don't want to give up autocross though, going to figure out something for the future just not sure what yet. Derek, I should be at the January autocross...

Scca CAM class on s197 + more power

There will probably be lots of good autox parts for sale locally around Jan/Feb that fit your mustang. Like a fays2 watts, some AST4150s and possibly a set of 18x11s with still good 295 rivals mounted on them.

S550 Mustang Suspension and Powertrain Discussion

I did notice that the torque rating, listed at the bottom, for gear ratio option C is a decent bit higher than option A or B. Paired with fords more recent preference for a 3.73 rear gear choice in the performance pack cars and those ratios may be similar to what they're planning on using.

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

I liked running the mustang in STX. Sure its just an also ran in that class and very challenging to drive "quick" on 265s but I still found it very fun. Some 285s on 10" wide wheels would absolutely help make the car more competitive in that class on a national level. I don't know if that would...

    NEW 200TW Hoosier Street Tire!!!!

My guess is that tire may make the exclusion list. That secondary compound is going to make people scared of there being an r comp like compound underneath when shaved to 3/32nd tread depth.

    13" brakes?

Guess that's what I get for trusting something on the internet to be accurate. Thanks for the correction.

    13" brakes?

The reason it shows from 2005-2014 is in 2011 they upgraded the v6 to use the same size brakes as the previous year GTs, hence the (GT/V6) application listing. The GT got an increase from 11.8" front rotors (per the size listed in your first link) to a larger 13.2" rotor while maintaining the...

    I need help!!!

I've autocrossed on koni yellows and now run ast4150s. Only reason I went to the AST4150s is cause I was getting into the bumpstops more than I'd like while using the koni yellows with basic lowering springs. Both have worked very well for me when autocrossing, giving plenty of adjustment to get...

    cortex watts link

I guess I am in minority since I didn't have a life changing moment after installing my Fays2 watts link. In street driving I can't tell a difference in my fays2 equiped car and my roommates phb equiped car. In autocross I imediately noticed a difference in slaloms or similar elements with the...

    2015 mustang hits the track

You may be mistaking Whiskey, I don't recall any springs other than the monoleafs on the 2008 vette I had, and I was under that car more than a few times. There definitely weren't any mounted over the shock dust boots (like a traditional coilover) as you suggest from that picture. Though I do...

    NOT Another...Yes...another auotx build thread

Any update on those 18x11s forgestar wheels clearing a stock style rear swaybar for sure? That's about the only thing holding me back from ordering a set at this point and I need to order soon since the current tires are almost done in.

    NOT Another...Yes...another auotx build thread

I really want a set of those 18x11s for my car. Though I am curious how the 11" width up front would work for limited street use since I don't have tons of room to store extra wheels/tires. And by limited street use, it would be mostly driving about an hour or so to the event site and back.

    NOT Another...Yes...another auotx build thread

I must not be driving aggresively enough or something. While its not difficult to get the rear to step out, with 450f/225r springs(need more in the front still) I still find the car putting down power suprisingly well. When I had 450f/175r I actually had a hard time getting the car to throttle...

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

Guess I'll have to decide if I want to stick it out in stx until 2015, if that's not a typo, or order some 18x11s for myself as a christmas gift and run esp on street tires locally next year. Part of me likes the stx challenge, part of me wants to experience the car with proper amounts of tire...

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

The extra power would make the older cars more fun, no argument on that. I've got nothing against making cars fun to drive either, or I wouldn't be into autox. I imagine with the way SCCA writes rules though half of the ST rules section would just be this one class with all those allowed mods...

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

Perhaps I'm over estimating the costs for custom top end engine work and not up to date on current pointy end national prep for ST classes. That's why I like forums though, great source of learning from those who have more experience than me.

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

Well aware how expensive it is just under the current stx rules. If cost is the primary reason for people not competing nationally then adding what could be double the costs to full class prep won't help any.

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

While allowing that would allow more cars at the local level for casual competitors, it would make the cost to compete nationally rise significantly.

S197 Mustang in SCCA Solo: STX vs STU vs ESP?

I'd be all for keeping current st rule set (diff cover change for watts link included) with adding a provision for sra cars getting lca relocation brackets on the axle end. I don't really think we need to allow heads/cams outside of up/back date allowances, while nice, power isn't the end all in...
