FYI - the production Boss oil pan is cheap and it has better baffles. It's the 302R pan from the race car that's insanely priced.

Just assembled my Boss short block last night.. Working on a write-up. I have all of the part numbers and everything - however the 2011-2012 block is no longer available, as they are replacing it with the no-squirter block ;) No machining required. I did use a bore gauge though, to move...

I was thinking it was more the engine than the car or I would have posted it long ago, as the car has been under construction for a lot longer than i would have liked :) :) You can build the motor for any s197, obviously.

Guess I should say - going to include things like how to use a bore gauge, mic'ing pistons and such. Complete assembly of chains, tensioners and so on.

John - thank you but I have a set on the way. What other take outs do you have? I'd be interested in original Boss 302 cams - from someone who upgraded to the new Ford Racing cams for the Boss.

I'm looking for the main cap and rod tq angle instructions. Is it in there?...if it is, I'm not looking in the right place.

Nevermind... pays to read stickies. Nevermind again... after going through the sticky on this, I didn't see the procedure for the TTY bolts. It says to "see procedure" but it's not there. Need torque and torque angle settings for mains and rods. Thanks! Jeff

Great info here, thanks. I'm familiar with installing heads and timing chains on a DOHC motor. What would you say is the biggest difference here? Can you install the heads while the cams are installed, or not (saw this mentioned). THanks! Jeff
