Aluminum flywheel vs iron for my Coyote swap?

Unfortunately, the RAM one seems to be riveted on :(

A new product to help with the 5.0 coyote #8 cylinder problem

They clearly have the ability to make some cool parts. I just always worry when I see early release products with all kinds of claims. Same thing when they released billet cam spacers, claiming a measurable HP increase.

Aluminum flywheel vs iron for my Coyote swap?

I have a 93 coupe w/boss motor (coyote intake) and I'm getting ready to swap a magnum T56 into it to replace my TKO 500 (TKO is great but hates to shift at RPM). I have the iron on it now but also a used aluminum flywheel from the magnum that I bought. This flywheel is a RAM unit and is not...

    Coyote Catastrophic Failure

First time to this thread. ;) Sorry for your problems and glad you have it running now. Nothing nicer than that first start up! Maybe you said, but what did the Boss short block cost you? I ask because I built my own from Ford Racing parts and I'm curious what it came with and what the...

    Engines before and after 8/16/10

I've noticed when looking up parts for my engine build - many parts, like camshafts - specify a different part if it's for a build prior to 8/16/10 vs after 8/16/10. Does anyone know what the exact change was that makes one different from the other? See...

Well the $139 one isn't out of reach and it's an improvement.

    Coyote shortblock build

That's the 302R pan. Production Boss pan: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=12904 Boss 302R pan: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=12061 I went with the production pan, call me cheap ;)

    Coyote shortblock build

FYI - the production Boss oil pan is cheap and it has better baffles. It's the 302R pan from the race car that's insanely priced.

    Coyote shortblock build

Just assembled my Boss short block last night.. Working on a write-up. I have all of the part numbers and everything - however the 2011-2012 block is no longer available, as they are replacing it with the no-squirter block ;) No machining required. I did use a bore gauge though, to move...

Building a Boss 302 Engine for my 93 Coupe

Like I said - I only posted when it came time to assemble the engine. Tell ya what - ill post the details on the engine assembly and at some point, when you realize how much tech is in there, you can move it again :)

Building a Boss 302 Engine for my 93 Coupe

I was thinking it was more the engine than the car or I would have posted it long ago, as the car has been under construction for a lot longer than i would have liked :) :) You can build the motor for any s197, obviously.

Building a Boss 302 Engine for my 93 Coupe

Guess I should say - going to include things like how to use a bore gauge, mic'ing pistons and such. Complete assembly of chains, tensioners and so on.

Building a Boss 302 Engine for my 93 Coupe

I've. Een working on this car for a while and I think I'm finally done collecting the parts I need to assemble the engine. The goal here was to use all factory parts, as they would have come off the line, replicating an OEM build - TTY bolts and all :) Here's the latest post on my blog about...

WTB - Stock injectors from 2011+

John - thank you but I have a set on the way. What other take outs do you have? I'd be interested in original Boss 302 cams - from someone who upgraded to the new Ford Racing cams for the Boss.

Shop specs on TTY mains and rods for Coyote/Boss?

Nevermind... pays to read stickies. Nevermind again... after going through the sticky on this, I didn't see the procedure for the TTY bolts. It says to "see procedure" but it's not there. Need torque and torque angle settings for mains and rods. Thanks! Jeff

    building motor..cam timing help!

Great info here, thanks. I'm familiar with installing heads and timing chains on a DOHC motor. What would you say is the biggest difference here? Can you install the heads while the cams are installed, or not (saw this mentioned). THanks! Jeff
