    Torsen T2R Spinning Inside Tire

I stand corrected. Looks like the notion of a preloaded T2R of any kind may be a remnant of the past, and for GM guys only. I know of at least one local GM guy who has clutches in his T2R but the car was put together like 10 years ago. At this point some T2R's might at most have preload springs...

    Torsen T2R Spinning Inside Tire

The Boss units aren't but I'm pretty sure the FR500S units with the 4.0 bias ratio are, but don't quote me on it haha. This one, I think: http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-31spline-88-fr500-diff.html Ideally something like an OS Giken would be awesome, but last I checked they might...

    Torsen T2R Spinning Inside Tire

I also run an Eaton Truetrac but I have to say that it does suffer from inside wheel spin as well on R-comps. I've had this happen on both Hoosier A6's and the BFG R1-S' I currently use. My car is running similar spring rates to Whiskey's car, 550lb front 250lb rear, Steeda front bar (only set...

    Coilover conversion kits

^Not to worry, I'm starting to see a lot of MCS decals where AST decals used to be on national-level autocross cars. There's always another bandwagon to hop onto. :)

    Eibach R2 Coilovers

I think PART but not all (if you're rubbing as bad as you say) of your issue might be because of the swaybar bracket collar. Note how thick the collar is compared to the strut body itself (and this is not knowing if the strut housing itself isn't already larger diameter than a stock strut or AST...

    Eibach R2 Coilovers

That is quite strange indeed. I use the 18x10 +42 Forgestar F14's from American Muscle with 285 RS-3's for the street and I only needed a 5mm spacer. And that's only because my AST's were slotted and I pushed the camber all the way in at the strut. Are your tires coming close to the strut body...

    First Autox in the Mustang

I would lean toward the tires in this case. If the guy in the Shelby knew what he was doing, and you certainly look like you did, around 1-2 seconds on one of the better autocross-specific street tires is not that surprising. I think on the Goodyears 3 seconds is not that bad at all, and even if...

    What seats are you running?

I would say the back portion of the seat bottom is about the same height as lowest setting of stock seats but if you want to get a comfortable amount of tilt in the seat the front of the cushion lifts you up a bit. It feels higher than stock to me with the Sparco cushion. I made a flat cushion...

    What seats are you running?

I just installed my Sparco Evo II US setup for the driver's side last week. The Sparco Evo II US is made to be wider around the waist and shoulder area compared to the regular Sparco Evo II, but not as tall, presumably tailored for us cheeseburger eaters in the U.S of A. I'm 5'11 220lb and it...

Popped the HPDE cherry - Buttonwillow Raceway

Thanks for the encouraging words! I actually use AST coilovers haha. The spring rate, camber, and toe are setup for autocross on Hoosiers (3.7 degrees camber and a bit of toe out) so the car actually felt a bit nervous on a track. How do you like the Whiteline watts link for tackling the apex...

Popped the HPDE cherry - Buttonwillow Raceway

I've decided to come out of lurking! Hard to believe it's been something like 6 months since my last post on my autocross build thread (which still do plan on updating, once next season starts). Just wanted to throw in a separate post about HPDE which is something completely new to me despite...

Hey Britt! Howard from El Toro. Nice to find you on here! (After all this time I'm still trying to formulate my thread post on how badly I got my ass handed to me lol!)

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

Darn! I've been so busy with work that I've been too lazy to make the updates about the past couple of autocross weekends like I wanted. Even though this is about as last second as it gets, I'm just gonna throw it out there as a quick update. I've made some spring rate and rear shock changes...

Hmm...this seems to work okay but if I refresh the page the videos will go blank for a while. Not sure if this has anything to do with the new tagging stuff youtube is adding.

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

6/5 Update: My apologies for waiting so long to do a massive post on the last 5 or 6 autocross events all at once, I think it was a combination of laziness and not having much to report about until maybe the last two events. The short version of the story: Everything's going well at local...

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

Alright, so I got lazy and ended up waiting too long to do an update on the past month of autocross. Since I got an AAS double-header coming up this weekend I'll just do one big update after these two events, which makes 6 events to cover in total. Lot's of exciting stuff happening these days...

Project STX update and 13/14 April Solo event After Action

Hehehe...Bryan was refering to my car, and this was BEFORE I went to the AST 4100s and Vorshlag CC plates :naughty1: (had just the Koni Yellows and Steeda Sports)! The RX-8 he was referring to is decently prepped and could run with the Charlie Davis E36 and the Tsang brothers' E36 on a good day...

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

Here's a couple of pictures of how I did it. Pretty much just have to give the vertical tire a firm shove to wedge it against the ceiling. I can see this being a bit harder to do if you have leather seats though... PS. Got an update thread in the works, just need time to write it up...

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

All four race wheels and your tools will fit inside the car without taking up the passenger seat. Just fold the rear seats flat, stack two flat on one side, one up right in the space next to the stack, and one in the trunk where the spare goes. Plenty of room left for helmet, jack and tools, and...

    2013 GT STX-ESP autocross build

Hey John, I would definitely vouch for the Koni Yellows being a great place to start for FS. Unfortunately I never actually ran the stock shocks for autocross so I don't have a direct comparison between the two that I can offer. For street driving I could definitely tell that the Koni's...
