What coil-overs should I buy? Poll inside

Might have to agree with some of the other posts promoting the Bilstein route, if only for the fact your daily commute is quite long and depending on the spring rate you go with, may be a bit brutal day-in day-out. It is true the ability for a rebuild is beneficial (currently running AST4100's...

    RTR 19x10

American Muscle lists the AMR version @ 27.1lbs. in 19x10 size. At $179 a wheel, much better priced than the RTR.

    Chris' GT Build

Yes, exactly. The LCA's and brackets were cake but getting the axle realigned was the tricky part.

    Chris' GT Build

Yea, those LCA and brackets are a bit of a pita to install. I used a come along to drag the axle back into position. Kept the cursing to a minimum.

Brian Faessler, in car video, NASA East Coast Championship

Wow, you'd think they were running a short track, not Road Atlanta, with the speed that MF was carrying. Wicked.

    Common Track Failures

My list of minor issues: 1. blown axle seals (rear) 2. pinion seal 3. axle vent (terrible design as stated above. I can't believe Ford sold it like this)

    Which pads for road course???

My current setup for the past couple of years has been Ferodo DS1-11 race/enduro pads up front with 2500's (street/track) in the rear. Great balance, easy to modulate, impressive longevity (because enduro pad) with minimum fade. If your looking for something to last awhile (4 events in and...

Hooked on Driving events (Midwest/Great Lakes)

Ahh, fun! I was there a few weeks ago with Porsche Club of America. Always a good day when your lapping a field of sports cars with stick axle technology. That is until I blew out both rear axle seals and pinion seal. :thud: Great track to learn on for those who've never been. Not much to hit...

Popped the HPDE cherry - Buttonwillow Raceway

I sure miss good ol' BW. Since moving to MI. my track outings have been cut in half. Thanks a lot seasons!!! Best of luck nursing that new found open track bite. Once I started attending road course events after autocrossing for years, I never went back to cone dodging.

Roll Cages Road Race/Autocross/Driving Days vs Drag Race

Try this. Appears to be a nice quality setup if you just plan to run HPDE events and eventually plan to return the car back to stock. I think the MM setup requires some cutting/trimming of the rear seat plastic panels for proper fitment. Of course is MM kit is a lot cheaper...

Forgestar and PF01 Tires for Street and Track

Can't remember but it was more then 4 events on a lighter car. A buddy of mine ran them on his 25hr. race car at Thunderhill, where one set lasted 12 hrs. on a 3000 lbs. car. Like I said, not as sticky or as quick as other R compounds but their durable. Take care with the Michelin's. As with any...

Whiteline Watts Link and Rear Sway Bar

I was a credit card number away from ordering the Corsa's. Glad I found this thread! Question for Terry (or anyone who might have an answer) on the Whitline system. If you were to add a diff. cooler plumbed from Whiteline's diff. cover, wouldn't that negate the need for a catch can? Because 1...

Terry, so glad to see you here posting to S197. After moving from my old Mitsu. Evo TT car to my current '11 GT track rat, having your teams insight into what works and what doesn't is extremely helpful and welcome. I'm still hoping to make the 'stang quicker than my 'old' car. Thinking your r&d...

Forgestar and PF01 Tires for Street and Track

Well it looks like your doing your research. As far as running performance street tires at tracks in CA. (Buttonwillow, CA. Speedway, Willow, Streets, etc.) I had good luck with Yokohama products (A048 and AD08). The A048 isn't quite as sticky as other DOT R compounds but they last forever! A...
