Interesting you built the motor then you learned about them? Not trying to be a jerk but I have built hundreds of engines and never did one until I have a pretty good understanding on how they work, what parts I needed, the blueprint specifications and machine shop requirements.

Unless you don’t trust your engine builder, I would just swap out the oil pump and see if that fixes the issue.

Heater core too… a good pressure test will reveal if the system has a leak.

To add to midlife important info replace oil pump too. Anyone else please chime in since I am planning on doing this soon.

Replaced the roof trim on the GT. I was considering painting the old ones but found them new OEM Ford for around $100 delivered. Installation is super simple.

Put a full length carpet under those ramps and they will never slip. ;)

Follow all the usual advice listed. For me… it has to have clean carfax. We have a forum member that does them fast and cheap. I won’t buy a car without a clean car fax or extensive documentation on service and ownership.

Not sure about PM but you can always run a can of sea foam through the intake right before an oil change.

When you say “drag racing gear” you mean quarter mile! Eight mile or street racing? The reason I ask is whatever gear you install you are going to match that with the intended purpose. Don’t forget what width and diameter tire too. Post some pics of your car when you get it. Good luck.
