Aren't you a little too old for that car? (Answer)

I would hope she'd need a little more than that. Don't ecoboosts, with upgraded turbos, make roughly 500-550 at the engine? Mine is supercharged and makes 563 at the wheels. In any event, I suspect we're going to keep it as is, at least until the warranty expires.

Aren't you a little too old for that car? (Answer)

LOL. Yeah... Her stock, fully loaded, ecoboost, twin turbo, all wheel drive SHO ran 13.8 in the 1/4, and the ecoboost Mustangs are supposed to be in high 13's as well, and easily tuneable to get some big improvements. She's only had it for a week, so we haven't been to the track yet. But...

Aren't you a little too old for that car? (Answer)

Thanks. Sadly, I sold it when I went to law school, for a LOT less than I had in it. REALLY wish I had kept it... At the same time, my cousin had a yellow 1970 Torino 429 SCJ Drag Pack. Before the rebuild, mine wasn't even close. After the rebuild, I still couldn't beat him, but at least...

Aren't you a little too old for that car? (Answer)

I'll hit 62 this month. I've been driving mustangs since 1988 and "hot rods" pretty much since since high school (interrupted by a short stint driving a turbo Mitsubishi Starion). My cars: In high school/college: 1971 Torino GT, originally with the 240 hp 2 bbl, 9:1 compression, bottom of the...

    Midlife crisis Mustang!

My midlife crisis car.... 2013 GT, added SVT wheels, GT500 rear spoiler, Laguna Seca grille, ARH long tube headers, Roush coil covers, Roush axle-back, and Roush supercharger. Makes 563hp at the rear wheels. Since this picture, it now has a GT500 hood, as some douche in a jeep backed into my...

best stock stage 2 roush tvs 1/4 times

I added the Roush Phase 2 to my 2013 GT A6, with basic Roush tune. Stock gears are 3.15's. I have not run it in the 1/4, yet. Only at a poorly prepped 1/8 track, on Nitto NT555 street tires. Had to run with traction control on, otherwise the motor just overpowered the tires. Bone stock on a...

    Delivery from Jack :)

Finally!!! Roush Phase 2 Supercharger and American Racing Long Tubes installed. New set of 2010 GT500 rims and tires all around, 255/40's front and 285/35 rear. Still waiting on delivery/installation of Roush axle-back and waiting on my paint and body guy to put the stripes on a new...

    S/C questions

LOL... Given my other hobby, I can't believe I missed that. My apologies for posting in the wrong forum. I've been here a while, but not frequently. Came by for a visit because I'm about to embark on a rather expensive project and thought I'd seek advice from folks who have been there/done...

    S/C questions

I'm not sure what "group" I am in, and have no idea what "off the paper" means. Did I post the wrong forum? I didn't see others that address mods to a Coyote, and I thought that asking about mods that compliment or are required with a S/C install were 5.0L Tech questions. If not, I apologize...

    S/C questions

I am getting ready to order a Roush Stage 2 supercharger kit from my '13 GT (AT). The car has about 11,000 miles on it. What else should I do? Are headers/exhaust needed? Does the Roush tune for their Stage 2 kit contemplate/compensate for upgraded exhaust? Or will that require custom...

1st time at track in 2013

Son installed the Livernois Stage 4 tune on his SHO and took it out to an 1/8th mile track a few days ago. Ran 8.44. So, he picked up about .7 of a second just from the tune. Stupid turbos. Now, I'm gonna have to start modding mine. Can't have the kid beating the old man...

1st time at track in 2013

I was a bit disappointed in the track operations at Baytown. Went on the 15th, spent 3 hours in the staging lanes, and never got a run in before a slight drizzle closed the track. Only took about 3/4 of our line once, while other lines were going through twice (on both sides of us). I don't...

1st time at track in 2013

No idea about air density. Is that something they publish at the track? Seemed like a good night. Fairly cool. In Houston, (roughly 30 miles to the west of the track) it was roughly 58-59 degrees, Dew point roughly 49 degrees, barometric pressure was in the upper 29's (i.e. 29.90+)...

1st time at track in 2013

Finally got my 2013 to the track Friday night (it turned over 4,000 miles on the way in to work this morning). And, of course, I left my timeslips at the house... I think I may need some advice on how to launch with my auto trans. Bone stock 5.0 with auto, and stock 235/50-18 tires. First...

I have no idea. I've heard that before. The stripes were painted on at the dealer, but, they deny having swapped out the grille, etc. I have seen a couple other pics on the net of 13's with the same setup, always on race red cars. Examples...

    New S197 Owner...

Yeah, I wish I still had it. Sold it for $700 back in 1980. Bad decision. I guess it's in the genes that we bleed Ford Blue. My uncle has a 1962 Galaxie with the 406 tri-power engine, Holman-Moody heads. Ran high 12's at 115 back in the early 60's. I guess it took a while to get that...

    New S197 Owner...

Maybe a little more history... This was my first Ford, which I drove from High School in the Mid 70's until I went to law school in 1980. It's a '71 Torino GT. Originally a 9:1 compression 351-C 2bbl with 2.73's. I rebuilt the engine myself, with TRW +.030 10.8:1 Pistons, Offenhauser Dual...
