    Suspension clunk over bumps

The front end is rock solid and quiet. It the rear and oddly enough the sides of the car I hear squeaks from now. I havent replaced anything in the rear yet so I assume I'm just assuming that the bell is tolling for all the rear bushings at this point. At least for now I can claim victory on the...

    Suspension clunk over bumps

So now that I have eliminated the rattling and clunking with the end link upgrade, now I am noticing squeaking and creaking coming from what seems to be the rear and sometimes the sides of the car. Is this a chorus of worn out bushings or is there something else I should look into?

    Suspension clunk over bumps

Yes, I know it seems unrelated but my end links were so worn out that it made my whole front end feel sloppy and wobbly. Maybe it's just a perception from feeling all of the wobbles through the wheel but now that I've replaced them I really feel like the car is sturdier and pointier. Maybe it's...

    Suspension clunk over bumps

Yes that is your problem. I have had the same issue and I replaced them with these Steeda end links Saturday and all the clunks are gone. Not only that, but the steering feels much tighter and more responsive. The steeda end links are $130 for the pair which is much less than the stock ones and...

New guy with some noob questions

A lot of great information thank you soundguy! I have signed up for scca chicago and am registered and the season has started but i am not showing up until i get all of the basics sorted out and taken care of. I have a relatively new helmet, suit and gloves, shoes etc from running some 24 hours...

New guy with some noob questions

Yeah actually just my bushings have worn out but since they arent serviceable on the factory piece i have to change the whole arms out which is frustrating. I see that aftermarket arms are cheap even the ford upgrade is cheap. I am astonished at the price of the factory stamped pos arms. How can...

New guy with some noob questions

Yeah the local ford quoted me 300 a piece for the stock replacements and then another ford dealer by me that deals in ford performance parts showed me the "upgrade" ones and something doesn't compute

New guy with some noob questions

Thanks for the replies guys i really appreciate it. Down the road my ideal situation would be to get to a point where i can TT the car through scca or nasa and have fun on a budget but for right now i just want to get started and get involved so thats why i am a bit hesitant and unsure. Ive...

New guy with some noob questions

Hi all. I have a 2008 mustang gt with 49k miles that i bought new and has mostly just been sitting in my garage for the last 5 years. As of right now it is still 100% stock. I have decided to dig it out, put the insurance back on it and start using it more and am looking to maybe dip my toe in...

    Interesting dealership visit

Im in aurora, il. I appreciate the supportive feedback. I was starting to get excited about beginning to mod my car. Its been a long time waiting for the warranty to expire before digging in. Then, deflated after that experience. Ive done my own work in the past but on much older cars so was...

    Interesting dealership visit

Im a pretty level headed person, not there to argue just looking for help. Advice is fine, but i dont have to agree. Personally i like NA. Just a preference. About the tires, i went back and forth about what size to put on. Ended up deciding to stay stock on stock rims and wait for new rims to...

    Interesting dealership visit

I went to a well respected dealership that has a good reputation for performance being a roush dealer and ford racing installer. I asked how much for hot rod cams installed and recommended suspenision ideas. The service manager immediately railed on me for wanting to waste money on frivolous...

    Fake cams.

My .02 I am tired of ricestangs giving me a bad name and this has to qualify as a ricestang mod. To each his own, but i don't have to like it.

Dumb question from fairly new guy

So leave the oe fluids and dont use anything else is what i'm hearing here. I wasn't asking about intervals i've just been pressured to "upgrade" to synthetic like it will make some sort of difference. I don't really see a need which is why i figured i'd ask the "big boys" on this forum since...

Dumb question from fairly new guy

So i am changing my oil today and my friends have been telling me to change out all fluids to synthetic while i'm at it. I use mobil 1 synthetic in the engine but haven't changed anything else since buying the car new. I have a 2008 gt manual with 21000 miles and am wondering if it's worth...

    First run in Mustang

I really just went to the track to establish a baseline run in stock trim so i'll know if my future mods were worth it or not. My goal isn't necessarily to get the quickest et, i just want to see where i'm at performance-wise. So i don't plan on getting track only tires or mods, i just want to...

    First run in Mustang

This past Saturday, i took my 08 GT out to the track for the first time. I've been to the track many times before, but this was my first with a manual. The car is currently bone stock with 18" BFG KDWS all season tires. Here's the results: 1st run: TC off, 36 psi in rear tires, 3000 rpm...

    How bad is this?

Well i was giving my car a good cleaning the other day and decided to clay bar it. In the extreme heat, my brain stopped working and i accidentally grabbed my meguiars interior detailer bottle instead of my meguiars quik detailer bottle to use as my clay bar lubricant. I plan on doing a thorough...

    Heavy grime on rims

I've tried meguiars wheel cleaner on a rag, sponge, powerball, everything. It gets alot of the gunk, but they're still pretty nasty. I know it's probably just an elbow grease thing but it's demoralizing when you're on your first wheel and your arm already feels like it's about to fall off.

    Heavy grime on rims

How are you supposed to get the really heavy dirt and grime off your rims? The visible part of my rims looks nice but when i take them off to clean the whole rim, the inner part of the rim is covered in some really nasty brake dust and grime that i cant get off. I've scrubbed the F out of them...
