    2006 V6 to 2008 4.6L (or possibly 2007)

Why yes I did and found some info but it didn't seem complete. The one thing I don't want to happen is "think" I have everything, only to be held up by one or two parts. Thx for the link. I had not read that one. Willie

    2006 V6 to 2008 4.6L (or possibly 2007)

I have a stock 2006 4.0L, 5-speed. I'm considering replacing the engine with a 4.6L and the 5-speed. I have definitely found the engine/trans from a 2008 and maybe the combo from a 2007. Does anyone have a comprehensive list on everything I'll need to make this swap? Will the stock 2008 4.6L...

Getting a new clutch, flywheel and pressure plate. But....

What's the TSB number? I'm thinking of buying an '06 V6 but it has a slight whine in fifth gear but only when you're light on the gas pedal. Also when the clutch pedal is depressed about half way, it pulsates. The dealership says all the concerns are "within tolerance". I'm having a hard...

    MSD Launch Master (Combined Threads)

Disconnected the pigtail, jumpered across the terminals, then used the switch for my circuit. Pretty simple, really... My circuit uses the following components: SPDT Relay Master Switch with Built-in LED Factory Clutch Switch Enabled LED 10A Fuse Ignition Source I have to use the relay...

The best method to prevent / minimize bog is to feather the clutch. The alternative would be to set the 2-step extremely high, i.e. 6,000 rpm. Even this method would cause a bog but not significant. It's also very important to set your 2-step activation switch so that it disables the 2-step...

    MSD Launch Master (Combined Threads)

I've run it cold and at temp and it holds at the selected RPM. Mine too.... when it was new three weeks ago. I just got off the phone with MSD and Anthony knew of the problem. It doesn't hold rpm when hot. He wants me to ship back the entire kit including both harnesses.... what a pain! It...

    MSD Launch Master (Combined Threads)

Exactly. It's not working as designed. I tested this again this afternoon with the same results. What I should do now is select a different (higher) rpm and try the same test. I talked to MSD about this and they said I was the first to complain at this -- that they would discuss this and get...

    MSD Launch Master (Combined Threads)

Mine changes with engine temp. With the 2-step set at 2,200 rpm, it is 2,200 rpm when the engine is cold. At full temp, it's around 1,600 rpm. Let it cool down and it's once again at 2,200 rpm. Willie

I have some bad news and one comment. Bad News: I've had my 8734 installed for one month and it's screwing up. When the engine is cold, it works fine. Once warmed up, the set rev limit changes. In other words, if it's set on the pots to 3,000 rpm and the engine is hot, it cuts out cylinders...

    2 step

I've done a good deal of reading on this subject and because I write my own tune files, I have experimented with this. In order to activate the factory 2-step in the tune file: 1) Rev Limit 0 must be set to your launch rpm, 2) Rev Limit Speed to Exit Neutral Limiter must be set to a very low...

    New engine decision

Sorry I cannot answer any of your questions but I was thinking the same thing about one month ago. Just to set a (bad) example of how us gearhead's distorted line of thinking is sometimes, here's my experience. Upon reading and checking countless websites on replacing the forged internals, I...

....It would be in the optional parameters when tuning your car, if it is not there, you won't be able to. Correct. TCS is not a variable in optional parameters. If you'd like a screenshot of what is available, just ask.

Monitoring IAT temps on a KB

This is the setup I have in my twin turbo Camaro. I hacked the original ashtray and installed three Nordskog digital air temp gauges under smoked plexiglas. From left to right: L) Reads turbo inlet air temp, C) Reads turbo outlet air temp upstream of the air-to-air intercoolers, & R) Reads...

Desperate Need Help Please...Whipple Belt Issues

I don't know if this helps but it may be something to think about. Years ago when I installed a D1SC ProCharger on my IROC-Z, it was one of the first three kits that ATI sold. These early kits came with a 12-rib setup. Just cranking the motor over, not starting it, was enough for the belt to...

Fitment of GT500 Hood w/ Whipple Supercharger

I wasn't exactly sure if my pulley is 3.125". I just checked and I was wrong. It's the same as yours, a 3.375". So you're definitely good to go! Willie

Fitment of GT500 Hood w/ Whipple Supercharger

Ultimately my concern is hood fitment with the Whipple supercharger. No worries! I've removed one of my hood vents, stuck my hand in and put it on top of the 3.125-inch pulley. I'm happy to report there is about 1/2-inch of clearance. Willie

    PCV Oil Seperator Install

I fabbed my own catch can. It's basically a modified CSR catch can I bought from Summit. I shortened it, added a sight tube, and tapped 3/8" NPT threads, to accept two 5/8" hose elbows. Yes, it has a drain petcock on the bottom. Certainly I can measure the amount held today but I'm not...
