    Tire Selection for NASA TT

Great post and thanks for sharing ddd. I was looking at the same flares and it's nice to hear the real cost/time/experience of installing them.

    Oil Pressure Loss in Braking

Don't know if I didn't catch it but are you still using 20w oil? If so, that might be your culprit. A 20w oil at 280° will probably be less viscous than water. Put something thicker in it, especially if you're not going to opt for an oil cooler (which I recommend--don't handicap yourself). I...

I haven't, but I'm not a finely tuned race car driver. I'm probably oblivious to half of the car's driving characteristics

Cortex offset struts provide significantly more inboard clearance for wide wheels/tires and the ability to rotate wheels all around (opposed to, say, 18x11s with different offsets front and rear).

    2011 Mustang GT track log

I wish I could say I've been flogging the car as of late but it's been in hibernation for months. I've been chipping away at a big chore list and hope to have it up and running this month. I haven't been more anxious and excited to drive it. A few comments I have on cortex JRi suspension: -the...

Lol, that write-up is hilarious... and way less headache than machining something. I'll give that a shot thanks for the tip!

    2011 Mustang GT track log

Unfortunately my posts are too old to edit, but I've found out that the front 18x11.5 wheels sent to me had the wrong offset. Must have been confusion either at Weld or from the vendor I purchased them from. Instead of et34 wheels, they're et22(!) wheels. Shame on me for not catching it when...

    KW V3 Settings?

Nothing wrong with saving up. SVE drifts are the go-to budget race wheel. 18x10s for $600 shipped (or less if you dig up a coupon). The guys in this thread will steer you in the right direction. like csamsh recommended, go with something wider unless you're sticking to class specific rules...

    NOT Another...Yes...another auotx build thread

I popped the fuse block on the positive terminal (for the steering rack) of the battery once and it lit up all the advance trac/abs/etc lights on the dash. Take a look to rule it out.

FS: Brand New Michelin 275/35/20 PSS and 305/35/20 PS2

These are brand new tires that have been wrapped and in my garage. The front 275s are Pilot Super Sports, and the rears 305s are Pilot Sport PS2s. Unfortunately I don't have a set of 20s anymore so I don't have a use for these. New, they would cost more than 1500. $1000 shipped, or I can...

    PRETITION: BFG Rivals in 305/35/18

    +1 for a 305/35/18.--hopefully it's happy on 11" or 12" wide wheels too

11" Wheels all the way around?

You could run an 18x11 +50 with Cortex offset struts. May need tiny spacers depending on tire size.

305s up front for the street?

+1 to the Vorshlag comment. 52 offset for an 11" wheel sounds like rear fitment. If Howey suggested a that for the front, you won't be able to get the wheels on. You'll need an offset in the low 30/high 20 range depending on how your V3 strut is adjusted for camber with the slotted holes...

    XXR 521's

You machine the hub pad down. It can be sketchy because it removes the surface that makes contact with the hub
  20. neema

So why don't 10in wide square setups work?

The +38 will protrude in the back (may need a tiny spacer I the front) and the +45 will need a spacer in the front but should fit better in the rear.

S550 Mustang Suspension and Powertrain Discussion

These are some of the coolest forged wheels on the block. More affordable than HRE and Forgeline, and they fit brakes as large as 400mm in 18s. Just look at the shape of the barrel.

    BFG Rival availability

I agree. My dilemma is figuring out how much spacer I think is getting into iffy territory. 10mm? 15mm? If I didn't care about 13mm spacers, I could use the same offset 11.5" wheels and be able to rotate. Or 19-20mm spacers and be able to rotate 12" wheels. Where do you draw the line?

    BFG Rival availability

Assuming the 12" et38 wheel (et56+18mm spacer) I used up front is dimensionally correct, an 18x11 et50-51 would fit up front (barely) with no spacers. Mounted in the rear, that 18x11 et 50 would sit farther inboard compared to the Enkei PF01 et38 but 6mm father outboard compared to the typical...

    Vorshlag 2011 Mustang 5.0 GT - track/autocross/street Project

Ahh, I think you meant CF5 instead of F14 in your post below. Now it makes sense. Regarding the 18x11/12 F14s fitting 15"/380mm brakes, I wouldn't hold your breath unless they've changed their barrel design in the last few months. There's an 18x12 F14 used on a Porsche (et60) in my garage and...

    2011 Mustang GT track log

Got a little time to mess with spacers a little more. I can get the 18x12 medium pad Welds to "fit" with 18mm of spacers (had to dig up a little 3mm one) and this is what clearances look like. Here's what the 11.5 et 34 looked like inboard And here's an effective 18x12 et38 (et56 with 18mm...
