Accel Super Tuner for S-197 V-6 and V-8 Mustangs Warning....

That's one question I can't answer. My '07 is as basic as you could get...no traction control or ABS. Something to be aware of with the 4.10s is driveshaft speed. The design on the V6 cars has the slip joint in the middle of the shaft, and no hanger bearing. This driveshaft has been known to...

Accel Super Tuner for S-197 V-6 and V-8 Mustangs Warning....

Yep, SCT. Even my old X2 will do both, and many more. 4.10s with the 5-speed...I did that. First gear's pretty short.

    Foglight delete/pony delete grille ?

Thanks! The wheels are Rays/Gram Lights 57XR, 18 X 9.5. I don't recall the offset though. They're fairly lightweight, @ ~19lbs. Bought them at an import shop.

    Foglight delete/pony delete grille ?

Yep, 'tis the nature of the beast...You'll just get the front done, then look at the back, and decide that big nasty fake gas cap has to go too! Been there...

    Foglight delete/pony delete grille ?

It's been a few years, but I believe those are the ones.

    Foglight delete/pony delete grille ?

There are also a couple of 'extensions' needed to change to the GT bumper...2 small pieces that have to be riveted to the inside of the outside corners of the bumper cover. Personally, I prefer the clean lines of the V6 bumper cover. The Bullitt grille is my favorite of the OEM ones, but It's...

    LED headlight bulbs?

That's me when someone using LEDs in halogen housings is coming at me from the other direction. Your tint should cut that down to some degree.

    LED headlight bulbs?

I've been looking for somewhere to drop this...looks like a good place...

    4.0L CAI?

Essentially what I was getting at...I just dummed it down a bit. As for the second part of your statement, I couldn't agree more. When I said I 2nd Jim, I was including the "The tune is what really makes it, regardless of the CAI you get." part. I had a C&L, and liked it...if not for the mega...

    4.0L CAI?

I'll second Jim...I had a C&L on mine before I added the supercharger. It was a nice, well made piece, but requires a tune. Any CAI that has a different diameter (where the MAF slides in) than the stock airbox will require a tune to work properly (and keep the engine light off).

    V6 shifter

I went with the Hurst for my V6. It's an improvement over the stock shifter, but not a big one. IMO, spend the money and buy the MGW...if I could do it again, that's the way I would go.

    Too-Strong 'Throttle' Return Spring ?

There is no mechanical link between your right foot and the throttle body...it's 'drive by wire'. If it is a spring issue, that spring will be at the gas pedal. It is more likely a throttle position sensor, or throttle body control motor issue. IIRC (it's been a while), an issue with the...

Exhaust Thingy - WTF Is It ?

That's exactly what it is...there to reduce NVH. If I recall correctly, there is also one attached to the OE V6 muffler. I have a Magnaflow X-pipe and axle-back mufflers, eliminating both dampers, and I have no issues with vibes/resonance.

    Tuners?

I have an '07 4.0 with a stick. A tune made a very noticeable improvement in throttle response. IMO, it was worth it for that alone. Mine was pretty bad before the tune.

How much power and tq can the 2005-2009 t5 take

Thanks for the extra info. It was 8 years ago when I got this trans...memory could be a bit foggy. I know the ratios, at least, are the same as you have listed for the T5Z. It was explained that some machining had to be done to the input shaft (and maybe the case, but I could be wrong there)...

How much power and tq can the 2005-2009 t5 take

Long story short: If you're not an Animal with a big hairy clutch and Velcro tires, they can take quite a bit. Long story: An upgraded clutch is what you want to avoid if you're looking for a long life with a T5 variant that has some power in front of it. There are some differences between the...

    4.0L V6 Stainless Single Exhaust ?

I used this X-pipe kit from Magnaflow...it's stainless, and the install is not difficult if you can get under the car. https://www.magnaflow.com/products/16411-performance-exhaust-manifold-pipe It is designed to use any GT parts after the X. OEM GT or GTB mufflers sound good on these cars...

    Tremec 6060 in a 2007 GT

No doubt someone here will have your answer, but you're in the 4.0 specific forum. It is not overly well travelled. You'll likely get a quicker response in the '05+ GT section...

    Driveshaft swap

Shaftmasters here too. No vibes. It's been a few years, but IIRC, it's also a ~10lbs weight savings. If there's a better/less expensive way, I don't recall seeing it...

    FROM 2005 to 2010 engine

Compare location and style of sensors...be prepared to change them over if different. If the car is a manual trans, the flywheel will be different. Somewhere in '07, Ford started using a dual-mass flywheel. The 2 can be interchanged, but must be done as a set (flywheel/pressure plate/clutch disc).

    4th and 5th gear grind

The proper fluid for the '05-up 4.0 cars is a Dexron III/Mercon (no 'V') ATF fluid. Dexron VI/Mercon V may supersede the III/Mercon in automatics, but I wouldn't put it in a manual that calls for a III/Mercon. It is a thinner viscosity than older spec ATFs. It should take ~2 3/4 quarts. I use...

    S197 V6 Manuel Transmission Shifter

What year, and what transmission? On the '05-'10 cars with the 4.0/5-speed, Hurst and MGW are the main players. The Hurst is more affordable, and what I have in my car. If I could do it again, I would go with the MGW. The Hurst feels a lot better than the stock piece, but has just enough play in...

Thanks! Action Adaption...I couldn't remember what Gaylon's piece was called.

    6 speed swap

I looked for the bill, but couldn't find it. IIRC it was under $2K shipped to my door. Keep in mind, that's in Canadian dollars, and includes taxes and border fees. It would be considerably less keeping it in the US. https://www.moderndriveline.com/ I believe they are in Idaho.
  25. R

    6 speed swap

It can and has been done with the GT500 TR6060. It required an adapter plate and some other changes...not sure if the parts are still available. I don't know if the later 3.7 trans uses the same bellhousing pattern as the 4.0, or not. Same for the spline count on the clutch, so not much help...
