My order comes in today. I don't think the extra 3/8" of the Flex 4 3/8" backing plate I ordered will be an issue but we'll see. I wish I had seen that the backing was 4". I assumed it was at least 4.5". I hate the hassle of returning stuff. Thanks for pointing that out though. I thought about the interchangeable system but I never use pads larger than a 5.5 where I feel I would need to switch back and forth all the time.

On another order coming today I'm also trying out some Menzerna FG400. I have always jeweled and removed minor stray swirls on the Mustang with Menzerna 4500 which is amazing. My aftermarket hood and roadster tops have a softer clearcoat than the rest of the car which is the original OEM paint. The OEM paint is much harder so I'm going to try the FG400 on that for some minor corrections instead of the 4500. The 4500 does the job on the OEM harder paint but it takes a while. Of course that was when I was using my PC polisher. I'm excited about using the Flex polisher. I have wanted one for a long time. Going to use Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant to top everything off.

I'm sure you can make it work you'll just have to be careful, as soon as you put the pad on the BP you'll see what I mean. FG400 is amazing stuff, no haze whatsoever, in fact its LSP ready...
