The other day the driver side heated seat stopped working. The passenger side works fine. I’ve checked the fuses and the relays under the driver seat. Even switched the relays. Everything working fine. Disconnected the battery to reset and still doesn’t work. It’s a power seat and everything else functions fine. None of the connectors are loose.

Any thoughts? I’m prepared to buy new heating elements and take out the seat to install the new ones. Unless someone has a solution. Both the seat and seat back elements stopped working.

    Thanks.

Check the connector under the passenger seat. Probably fried - Ford used too small a wire for the ground and the connection will go out. Easy to pull the seat, pull the old connector and wire in the newer one with the 2 ground wires.

I know what you’re talking about but I don’t think I have the same connector as the S550. I checked the passenger side, nothing even comes close to what the S550 seat connector has. I’m going to test the seats for resistance this evening.

I was thinking that it happened on my 2013, but now that you mentioned the S550 it may have been on my 2017.

So I tested the seal elements for resistance and continuity. The seat is fine. The seat back is dead. Without the seat back, the seat won’t turn on.

Thanks. Wasn’t hard to find the part numbers myself. I know the parts manager at a local dealership so I got a discount on it. Mind you I’m in Canada so the element costs more here. Just sucks I have to take the seat out and cut the hog rings and put new rings on which means I have to buy a tool for that.

Yeah but I can’t think of what I’d use it for after. Maybe I should start a nose piercing service?
