The LED headlights and mirror spotlights are stupid bright.

Really? A fucking "Yote"? Are we that lazy that we'll try to create some bullshit slang name for the Coyote? Just called it what it is a Coyote, or simply a 5.0.

Must be a Indiana/ohio thing. We southern Indiana hill jacks call them 'yotes too, lol. (pronounce it yo-tee)

The new F-150s are a thing of beauty, thanks for sharing the pics guys. Pictures and drooling on them on the dealer lot is as close to one as I'll be getting. $40k plus for a base model is insane. I'll have to keep driving my damn Silverado I guess.

Here's the one I'm working on my wife to let me get, it's only 29k.

It would look close to this once I got done with it:

Ugh, I'm just not so sure about this body style. I don't get the piece on the headlights. The Tundra tailgate is weird, too.

Would love to get one. Regular cab f150s are a lot of fun for running around town and if you mainly only travel with yourself or one passenger. Regular cab 2015 with a 5.0 and I'd be stoked.

Here is how I'd set mine up. XLT, ecoboost v6, fx4 sport, blue flame, extended cab, some bells and whistles, 3.55s, 20" 5 spokes. Would be a bad truck.

Cam, hope you can shed some light. Why is there such a jump in price from the 14 to a 15 in the same optioned truck?

Everyone thought I was crazy when I said there was a huge price jump. At least I know I'm not the only one who thinks so.

A 13/14 in the same options can be had for 16k cheaper. I just dont get it. I know the 13's are older and just sitting and they are making killer deals but it still confuses me.

mother of tits that is a good looking truck

How did the headlights look?

Aluminum costs about 2.5x as much as steel. We sell Featherlite Trailers here also. You could get a 28' enclosed Haulmark (steel) car hauler for less than $8,000. The same thing in a Featherlite (all aluminum) is $30,000. I'm actually surprised the F150s don't have a bigger price gap than before.

If you optioned them the same between a 14 and a 15, the XLT 300A and below have about a $300 price jump, the XLT 301A and above only have between a $500 and $3,000 jump as you go up in packages.

That being said, my step dad's Platinum stickered at $61,395.

Ford got rid of the STX and the FX4 packages (other than the FX4 offroad package that can be added to any of them, similar to the Super Duty)

The 2015 XLT 301A with the Sport Appearance Package is the same thing as the 2014 FX4 401A. Similarly equipped in 2014, the MSRP is $46,135.

What ^^^ said. Plus there is many more options on the higher end trucks that weren't available before which makes the price different different. I think the biggest differences to note is how they've configured the low to mid range trucks.

To give you a little more comparative edge, here are two vehicles I have available.

2014 F150 STX CrewCab 4X4 (201A)
Only Option - STX Sport Package
*20" Wheels
*Carpet
*Running Boards
MSRP: $40,270

2015 F150 XL 4X4 CrewCab (101A)
Options
5.0L V8 Engine $1595
Carpet Flooring $145
Running Boards $250
Trailer Tow Pkg $495
Tailgate Step $375
36 gal tank $195
Trailer Brake Controller $275
Snow Plow Prep $50
XL Sport Pkg $775 (fog lamps and 17" painted wheels)
MSRP: $42,300

As you can see some things are not standard anymore and the packages from previous years have been broken up into stand-alone options (black carpet). Previous years if you got a crew cab, the 5.0L was standard - now if you get a crew cab + 5.5ft bed the 3.5L V6 is standard still unless you go up to a 6.5ft bed (where you'll have to have at least the 2.7L V6).

Simply put, if you were to buy a 101A 2015 F150 with a 4x4 in a Crew Cab + 5.5FT bed configuration without any additional options, the MSRP would be right under $39K. You can see it in two different lights since now even though the price is lower than the '14 counter part, you aren't getting the more powerful engine, or a larger fuel tank standard.

I could sit and pick it apart entirely, but I do like how many options have become standalone and especially when looking at an XL Sport/STX. I sold a ton of Supercab STX's with the N/A V6 engine and people wanted the carpet option but were upset when it included $1000 of options they didn't care for.

Side note -

Phil, I envy you guys for having a Featherlite franchise. We tried to acquire one last year but they wouldn't let us since the closest one was 50 miles away and they said that was too close. It all started because we tried buying our Featherlite from them and they were a pain in the ass to deal with - didn't return phone calls, wouldn't negotiate on a pretty simple request, provide more information, etc. Ended up going to GA and made a deal.

I agree with you on the standalone options. It's nice to be able to pick your options a la carte instead of needing to pay some huge amount to get the one option you want clustered in a package of other stuff you don't need.

And yea, Featherlite is pretty strict on their zoning territory rules, which made it tough for us to get in but is good for us now that we are. This is only our fourth year being a dealer for them and last year we were the #3 dealer in the world, and this year we are #1. It's been nice for supplemental income... and having a demo to trailer my car to the track is pretty sweet too

Yes but the more customized the options become the higher the price will be. Its a lot easier and more cost effective for Ford to assemble trucks with option packages rather than being more specific. I'd rather have packages then individual options to make them more affordable.

You are right, assuming you were going to buy all the items in the package anyway. A lot of people only want one or two things out of a 7-10 item package, so you end up paying sometimes 1,000-3,000 more just to get that one thing.
