With 4.10 axle gears, stock diameter tyres, and a 5R55S automatic transmission, 5th will be geared at 26.8mph/1000rpm. Therefore 6000rpm = 161mph.

See my posting #11. I stated with 4.10 gears and 6k rpm and oem tire diameters, top speed in OD is 161 mph @ 6 k rpm.
That will work...... however, with a NA motor and even with minor mods, it's still gonna be a tough slog from 100-161 mph.

For N/A with a manual transmission and stock cams, 3.55 is ideal. Once you start adding cams, intake manifold, or ported heads that shift the torque curve higher up the rpm range, anything from 3.73 to 4.56 may work best depending on set up.

i disagree,
the stock gear ratio makes 4th and 5th a slug,

1st ,2nd ,and 3rd are ok, but after that ........

On a manual, 2nd and 3rd gear are geared a lot higher than 2nd and 3rd gear on the auto 5R5SS. On a 3.31 or 3.55 rear end gear, and NA, on the manual, yes it would be a slug.

But i wouldn’t be able to reach that speed right because of the higher ratio gears? So id only hit roughly 138mph?

Sorry i’m new to this part of the car stats n want to get the best out of it without sacrificing too much top end, i have had 168mph with the stock ratio n that was when the engine was stock too. No idea what it would do now with the mods i have, but i want that better acceleration to get to 120mph faster and my top end if possible.
