I have a red car
With 4.10 axle gears, stock diameter tyres, and a 5R55S automatic transmission, 5th will be geared at 26.8mph/1000rpm. Therefore 6000rpm = 161mph.
See my posting #11. I stated with 4.10 gears and 6k rpm and oem tire diameters, top speed in OD is 161 mph @ 6 k rpm. With 4.10 axle gears, stock diameter tyres, and a 5R55S automatic transmission, 5th will be geared at 26.8mph/1000rpm. Therefore 6000rpm = 161mph.
For N/A with a manual transmission and stock cams, 3.55 is ideal. Once you start adding cams, intake manifold, or ported heads that shift the torque curve higher up the rpm range, anything from 3.73 to 4.56 may work best depending on set up.
On a manual, 2nd and 3rd gear are geared a lot higher than 2nd and 3rd gear on the auto 5R5SS. On a 3.31 or 3.55 rear end gear, and NA, on the manual, yes it would be a slug.i disagree,
the stock gear ratio makes 4th and 5th a slug,
1st ,2nd ,and 3rd are ok, but after that ........
But i wouldn’t be able to reach that speed right because of the higher ratio gears? So id only hit roughly 138mph?With 4.10 axle gears, stock diameter tyres, and a 5R55S automatic transmission, 5th will be geared at 26.8mph/1000rpm. Therefore 6000rpm = 161mph.
