Hi guys. I have a pioneer head unit I'm installing in place of the shaker500. I took the easy way out and bought the PAC harness for my 2008. The PAC harness has wire for "antenna". My pioneer head unit harness does not have an antenna wire. Is this PAC harness looking for a constant power or a trigger signal? I assume it's between using the blue/white remote turn on or the 12v ACC red wire.

    Thanks in advance

What headunit do you have. Every Pioneer i have wired up has the antenna wire. On our cars its required to be hooked up or you will have crappy reception.

Pioneer avh-490bs. There is not "antenna" wire on the pioneer harness. The manual mentions that the blue/white wire can be used for other things like a "power antenna". Is that what they are referring to?

Yes, that wire needs to be hooked up to the factory antenna wire.

Does the pioneer stereo delivers? Would you recommend it?

Sorry for being off topic. Maybe you can help me. I'm on a quest for a new stereo. I've been reading reviews about Pioneer stereos but they are useless hype. It's beyond me why people are doing it.

This head unit landed on my short list mvh-1400nex. From all the blogs that I've read one stood out. The blogger was hyper critical about this head unit and put me on the fence. This review was OK until I've reached the shortcomings section.

Is the Bluetooth connection buggy? How easy is to find those digital buttons in the night?

    Any pointers?

It is a 12v that is meant to trigger a power antenna, and can be used to turn on an amp if you have one. Do not use this to actually power anything, it is just a trigger signal.
The actual antenna is the shielded wire that looks like tv coax.
