Anyone know where I can find paint to match the "dark stainless" wheel color Ford uses?

Long story short, some asshole in a truck was coming up my street this morning (2 way but cars park on the left side so I had right of way), instead of backing up to the end of a row of cars a couple feet behind him he decided to drive forward and try to squeeze between 2 other cars. Trying to get around him I accidentally went up on the curb and rashed up my back wheel pretty bad in one spot and I'm super pissed.

The wheels on my car (in sig) are the '15-17 GT "Premium" wheels in a color Ford calls "dark stainless" but when I looked them up earlier today I also found it referred to as "Hyper silver." Duplicolor makes a hyper silver wheel color kit but in the reviews people said it was very silver and these wheels are not. I'm not sure where to look. Would like to fix it rather than replace but I don't know how well that will work.

ghunt81,

Can't help with paint color but I have another suggestion for you. How about calling a mobile wheel repair outfit? They'll smooth out the road rash, repair any divots, and color-match paint the wheel to the original paint (spraying the whole thing). "AWRS" is Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists and they have franchises across the country. My local AWRS is awrsmidwest.com and there's a link to other AWRS sites around the country.

Hope that Hyper Silver is not like my Roush wheels which are hyper black. From what I was told mine are the same process as typical hyper silver only instead of a silver base coat, these have a black base. Over the years I put a couple of minor scuffs on mine. Decided I wanted to get them fixed. Took them in to see what it would take to get then back to new. It was going to cost $325 a wheel. I about croaked. Wheels were only $420 to buy new from Roush. The kicker was they could not guarantee that the two wheels would match each other, let alone the other two in the set. Think I will live with them for a while.

Good luck!

Another one to check is VHT, would think with all the wheel paints they have they would have a match or something very close. I've repainted my calipers with the VHT caliper paint and it works very well. Very surprised Duplicolor does not have a match....

VHT Has Ford Argent Silver???

I think I can buy a replacement wheel for $200-ish...since these are fairly new and not all that rare, so I may look into that, not sure.
