I am swapping a 2012 8.8 LSD axle into my 07 V6 (replacing the 7.5). I have the original 07 LCA's and the 2012 LCA's. They are different stamping designs. Which would be better to use? Or does it matter? It's just a daily driver but I do plan to upgrade antisway bars, springs, etc. for handling. Thanks in advance...
I am running the OEM 13 lowers that came with my diff. Way lighter than the 07 v6 ones. was surprised. Otherwise, it does not matter.
thanks, the newer ones "look" like a stronger design with the double folded metal edges but I didn't think it would be much different. Anyway, I used the 2012's instead of the 07's.
right now I am just swapping the 7.5 out for the 8.8 and using what I have. Upgrades will come later but as the budget allows. I was just wondering of the two sets of OEM that I have, which would be better for now...
If its the 12, with a manual transmission, it has GT500 lower control arms as stock, doesn’t it? Thanks
No. They only have one hole in them and the edges are double folded. I’ll get a picture of the two and post them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yes, those are exactly what I have used on my 07 from the 2012. The 2012 was a MT-82 six speed with an 8.8 LSD. I am swapping in all of that into my 07.
Those are the stock LCA's then. The GT500 arms only came with the performance pack and the GT500 of course. They are a nice upgrade when you are ready though. Edit: After looking at the pics of your 07 LCA's they appear to be the GT500 ones.
