Have they gotten any better? Considering adding a "throwback" 1200 or 2200 Procharger system from them on my 2008 GT and wondering if the base tune is any good...

Why would you even consider them when you can get a Lito tune?
When a company has such a bad reputation like Brenspeed does, it’s deserved.

I would/will certainly have Lito tune it, but there has to be some baseline to get the car running and datalog it, no? Since their starter tune comes with the package (I already have the SCT/BD tuner), I was just trying to get some recent feedback.

Another point is it sounded like from the OP intro post that it would be an install done in the shop as a package (not home install).
Lito is awesome and I have heard he does remote tunes with a shop with a dyno, but there is some setup and logistics with timing that and then there's the warranty/backing from the shop that is likely not going with that deal. The OP wants the package and install from a shop, and he is asking for opinions. Let's help him but not just shoot down the intent of his ask.

@Blue03Cobra -- I wish I could say Brenspeed would take care of you; but they have a history of crumby tunes and aren't what they were back in the early 2000's, from what I have been hearing (never used them personally, but was considering until I went with Lito for the remote tune on my N/A engine). You might wait for others to chime in here on the Brenspeed topic or maybe others have suggestions for other shops in the area?

Certainly appreciate that, @SVT Rider and I am the OP, as well.

To clarify: Home/Self install. As I understand, the kit does not come with a wideband and I'd have to bung one in, for Lito to tune it. Yes, I plan to do Lito's "remote dyno" tuning, as I don't know of a good Mustang tuner in the area (Baton Rouge, LA). The Brenspeed kit is one of the most reasonably priced centrifugals available and it comes with their "canned" blower tune...just hoping to hear they've gotten better, so I can be comfortable loading their tune to get the car to run, so I can datalog it for Lito. I'm currently running (and very happy) with Five Star (CAI/tune/axleback car) and they've done wonders with my 2.7 and 3.5 Ecoboosts...but don't do aftermarket blower tunes, remotely.

I got the similar Vortech V3 kit from Brenspeed and their tune was terrible. I eventually went to Lito and the difference was night & day. I would strongly suggest that you go with the HO kit that includes the intercooler. The Summer temps in LA are going to kill your IAT's. I ended up adding CX Racing intercooler and it would have been much easier to just get the HO kit to start with.

Contact Lito now. As long as he can get all the info on the blower kit and other details, he can easily write you a base tune in 10-15 minutes. No reason to pay for two different tunes. If for some reason Lito cannot help you or does not respond, consider Justin at VMP Performance. He can also write you a base tune. Both tuners are good enough that you may not even need a revised dyno tune.

I concur with the above. The Vortech on my car came as the full kit (from Vortech, not Brenspeed FWIW) My experience with that led me to recommend buying the "tuner" setup and supplying your own tune and fuel system upgrades. I used the included tune for one drive before e-mailing Lito. The included fuel pump "upgrade" was janky as hell and running way too close to 100% duty cycle for my liking so that got replaced with a 400 lph Walbro and the included injectors, while acceptable, are running close to their limit as well.
You will need a bung welded in for a wideband sensor. Just part of the price of admission for forced induction. Mark where you want it and bring the H-pipe somewhere to get it done while you're installing the blower. No extra downtime and should be pretty inexpensive.

Their base tune can get you rolling, just don’t expect it to be very good. My car ran so bad with the tune from Brenspeed, that I considered getting rid of it. I’m sorry if I got a little emotional with my reply, but I really dislike that place.
I purchased my Edelbrock SC, Detroit Rocker cams, and Kooks LTH from from Brenspeed along with multiple accessories. Tunes came with all major purchases. When I asked for help because I couldn’t back my car out of the garage without it dying unless I let it idle for 15 minutes. Even then I had to play with gas pedal. I was basically told, that’s how it is with a SC and cams and there is nothing they could do.
Thank goodness I found Lito.
Between here and Reddit, I have not read a lot about Brenspeed that’s new. Most of the reviews I’ve seen are from guys with NA cars.
