Cleaning & polishing aluminum door sill

Can anyone recommend what they use or would recommend to clean & polish the aluminum door sill?

Where it says MUSTANG? I think thats clear coated, any polishing will remove that. How bad is it?

Yes, there is some corrosion between the Mustang letters. Mine is much worse than this picture I found.

Clear coat is probably already peeled. You can get them very cheap on eBay, replacement sills in Dove Gray

If you plan to keep originals, hit them w/ some Never Dull, clean-up good, mask area off & shoot w/some clear-coat. Voila, nice little afternoon project.

I replaced mine. Not worth the effort to try to clean.
