Hello everyone. Seeking advice on how to install the Department Of Boost Powa Pump, specifically the included wiring harness. No instructions came with the kit. I removed the GT500 intercooler pump that was in the car then wondered what to do with the connectors from that harness. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Why don’t you contact Jason @ department of boost? Or go to their Facebook page, lots of members participate there and would be happy to share with you how they did it.

That was the first thing I did. Jason hasn't gotten back to me as of yet. Thought someone here could help with the wiring harness. Heat exchanger and pump are in place, need guidance on the wiring said.

Do you have the DOB 450 Installation Manual? If not, see below. Starting on pg 92 of the GT450 instructions is a description of how to wire up the relay and run the wiring for the pump. Not sure what the wiring is at the connector for the powa pump but as long as there is a ground and power wire going to the pump you should be fine with these instructions.

Nice pump. I think my connections are 3/4” instead of 1”. I suppose I’d need some kind of a reducer for that pump.

Found these on Summit's website. Might come in handy.

Did you ever figure it out? Electrical connections for the pump are on the last page (link below). To install correctly you must use the GT450 instructions (starting on pg 92) for the relay and mate them to the electrical connections for the pump.

https://www.departmentofboost.com//wp-content/uploads/2019/03/GT450_Stage_III_Instructions.pdf (pg 92)

https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/emp-e2512a.pdf (see pg 18)

Electrical connections for the relay and pump are as follows:

RELAY

Pin 85 (Ground) - (black wire) connect it to any metal body ground close to the relay.
Pin 86 (Switched pwr) - Run a wire to the RF Noise Suppressor (front of engine passenger side) and spice into it.
Pin 87 (High Pwr) - Using 12 ga (thick wire) run it across the front of the car and connect to Pin 3 (Red wire) to the connector for the pump.
Pin 30 (B+) - 12 ga - Run a wire to nearest B+ (usually the Red side of the fuse block if you mount the relay near it).

PUMP - Since the pump also has a switched power connection you will need to make an additional connection detailed below.
Pin 1 - No connection
Pin 2 - (Ground) - (black wire) connect to any metal body ground nearest to the pump.
Pin 3 - (B+) (Red battery pos) - This line connects to the thick line (High Pwr) that runs back to Pin 30 (B+) of the relay.
Pin 4 - (Ignition Pos - aka Switched Pwr) - This model pump also requires switched power so the closest point is probably the RF Suppressor on the drivers side on the front of the engine. Spice into it.

Just realized we're making this too hard. For your installation you Do Not need a relay. The pump already takes care of that by using Switched Pwr. Therefore -

The cleanest/simplest installation would be the following:

PUMP -
(Using the 4 pin connector at the pump; see last page of emp-e2512a_hp.pdf instructions)
Pin 1 - No connection
Pin 2 - (Ground) - (black wire) connect to any metal body ground nearest to the pump.
Pin 3 - (B+) (Red battery pos) - This is the thick line (10 or 12 gauge) that should have been included with the kit. Run it back to battery positive or the positive lead at the fuse box in the engine bay. Just be sure to add a 30 amp fuse in line.
Pin 4 - (Ignition Pos - aka Switched Pwr) - closest point is the RF Suppressor on the front of the engine. Spice into it.

According to the instructions do not run the pump without water. It'll damage the seals.
