Just wondering if it's normal for the trans to be super tight between 1st and 2nd when it is very cold outside. I can go 1st to 3rd but it's tough to get it into 2nd.

2014, GT, convertible

Thanks

Better fluid will reduce that tremendously.
Mine is a little notchy the first few shifts but after that it's pretty smooth, still considering that it's a piece of crap Chinese-built loose-tolerances transmission.

Ford had a TSB on the '11-'12 Mustangs, replacing the factory fluid with the same fluid they use for their Focus DCT transmission, and it improved cold-weather shifting a lot.

I use something different.

How many miles on your '14 and what fluid is in it?

Just rolled past 8000 miles, probably factory original trans fluid. It does get better pretty quickly but those first few shifts out of first are sloooowwww.
