I put on street 275 35 18,s and traction might have been a little better but best I could get was a 2.12. I'm not sure what I want to do right now.

What tires, specifically, did you use for this test? If you're saying some type of street tire (non drag radial) on a regular street surface, then I would say that 60' is not bad at all. I've never experimented with the drag radials on the street, but I have the reverse experience of using street tires at the track. Although they were narrower (255/45R18) Michelin PS4S tires (treadwear 300), my best 60' was a 1.98.

my last 4 runs would have all been 13.9,s if I had run a 2.0 60ft but my mph is off a bit at only 101 to 103. Probably due to high miles. Near 180k the tires are cheap off brand. lots of grooves, minimum surface area

Yeah I found some cheap($140) cast 15x10 7.5 bs at summit but no weight listed for them. Wonder how much more they weigh than forged race stars@$265?
Substantially more, probably. My forged wheels are 17 lbs. for 15x11. My Shelby street wheels weigh 45 each.

WOW! I was thinking maybe a couple in similar style, size wheels. That is HUGE thanks MrBhp

I just weighed a new 07 or 08 original Ford 18x8.5 wheel @ just over 26lbs without stem. Some DR,s are listed as summer tires, what would they be like in cold weather? say 40,s to 50,s

They are called summer or performance tires because they have a softer rubber compound. But with that said, their traction and their advantages go away quickly as the temperature drops. In fact they get hard and slick when cold so they tell you not to drive it below certain temps.

American Racing Torque Thrust M 18x10 with 5 on 4.5” pattern. 7.25 backspacing and +45mm offset. These clear the stock brakes, do not rub and do not poke out with a 305. A 315 Will stick out. Race Star 92 Drag wheel in 15x10 with a 7.25 backspace and a +46mm offset does not poke out and does not rub with a MT 28x10.5-15 ET Drag slick but does require sway bar relocation. I have run these wheels on the rear with no issues.

Hey Brother Midlife Crises; If your name is because of the hot cars, then mine would be Second childhood. LOL. Anywho I found LMR has sve wheels that seem to be equal to race(drag)stars 92 but cheaper. Anyone have experience with them? 15x10 17lbs $209, 17x4.5 $219. All four $849. It's imperative I get this car going good as my grandson just got a CHP 2015 charger 5.7 and he wants to race me.

Yeah as pointed out in this thread, Maybe I'm asking too much of car as times are on dragy under less than favorable conditions. Actually now I'm pretty happy considering. My lack of ability hasn't hurt as much as I anticipated but 60,s are poor all in mid 2.s except for one. But ordering stuff this week.

Very nice MC; I got some bad news yesterday. I broke a tooth and went to dentist. I will be working the next six weeks just to pay dental bills. I work six weeks to pay car insurance for a year. over 3 weeks for property taxes. That's a third of a year. Then food, and gas. Not a lot left for toys.

I was going to get the set@LMR $849 15x10, 17x4.5 in dark stainless but now I'm thinking of waiting at least till black Friday. The skinnies are a good way to drop some weight. I've got a long ways to go to get to my first goal of 12.6. I did order the mandrel bent 2.5" over axle ss pipes from LMR. Ya know this second childhood thing is a lot different since I'm paying .LOL

I got them. I found a set of like new sve dark stainless 15x3.5 and 15x10,s with like new MT tires. Backs are 275x60,s with lug nuts and wrench. Not exactly what I wanted but it's a great start and when you can save money it helps. the 28" diameter will hurt my gear ratio a little. Just need more HP. Now a swaybar relocate and I'm good to go. Can't wait till some warm pavement shows up.
