I wonder why the power gain claims are so much less than the Boss 302 intake mani?

Yes it was previewed at SEMA last month, looks like it's going to retail for $999 [ouch] ,, it's supposed to be shipping early next year.

There was a thread on the SVT forum and they were talking about installing the intake and seeing what real world results would be, that didn't happen yet that I'm aware..

Jeez. So $999 for a an acclaimed 16hp/21lb-ft gain vs. $499 for an acclaimed 61hp/43 lb-ft gain?

Hmmm...

That is over the Boss Intake, not the stock intake. The $999 is just the price that one website has it listed at. Whether or not it comes to be that much I have no idea.

The 16 hp is over stock manifold. Its creatively worded.

This manifold is mainly for FI guys who are running enough boost to crack the boss manifold and the plus of aluminum port finish.

Looks like 700-800 retail at most. Doesn't look like a 1000 dollar intake to me.

The cost to modify the 4.6 3V pushed me out of owning the one I had. I loved the car, but couldn't justify the cost to mod it. I love the 5.0 DOHC but shit, they're friggin' more expensive to modify.

Yeah but how much power do these engines make from the factory nowadays compared to SN-95s and older generations...

Yeah the 2.3EB decimates my '91 5.0 for hp and torque. And the new 5.0 is a whole 'nother level of engineering over my obviously inferior push rod 302. So much so you can't even compare them to each other.

I had an 86' with a 306cu in, 13.5:1, 202/160 Dart headed, Victor Jr, 750 double, 1 7/8 LT's, 3" exhaust and a huge solid roller spinning 7500rpm that trapped at 116mph. About the same as a new Yote.:roflsquared:
