So I just got an Assignment to Guam. Is there a drag strip there or what? How is the mustang scene?
I think your screwed. One of the guys here,
07torchgt,has been there for a year plus. IIRC the speed limit is 35mph on the entire island
Yeah, and I remember him saying they had a drag strip but it was terribly prepped?
Well maybe I can spend my weekends building the car up. At least it will be warm enough to drive it year round.
lots and lots and lots of rain... and lots of salty sea-spray too... keep the thing washed!!!
Yikes, bad for the Harley too I guess.
But the good news is lots of strip clubs...
Say hello to the Viking, Tourist, Andy's, Texas, Dallas... can't remember more, and some may be gone of course... lots of Japanese tourists... the one's who couldn't afford to take a Hawaiian vacation...
Yup, I'm on Guam right now... There is a dargstrip and it is a lot of fun despite being comlpetely unprepped... It is a fairly new track so it isn't garbage, just unprepped... The timing system isn't the best either... Be prepared to race the local "race trucks" here... They are stripped down old body toyota pickups with a fairly built 4 banger... They are light as hell with slicks so they get a decent jump and like to say they "beat the V8"...lol... Thats only if you screw up a shift or launch usually... The DA here blows and high octane fuel is next to impossible to get... I suggest living on base as well... The local utilities gouge people for money and so do the local landlords... Plus there is a huge amount of theft and vandalism off base... Its not so much the locals as it the the outlying islanders that moved here and kids... Parts can be a bitch to get here as well... BBR and D'Agostino are the best I have dealt with to get parts here... The auto hobby shop has a couple of great guys that work there and if you get in good with em they usually won't ever charge you a cent... I hardly use it but they let me borrow some specialty tools from time to time... I do all of my work in my carport since I have all my tools here from my days as a Ford tech... Almost all houses on base have decent carports... The car/race scene here is pretty big and there is always tension between the locals and the military at the dragstrip... Its not bad but you know its there... I tend to get along with everyone but there are a few who feel threatened by military guys bringing a quick car up there...
I have been here for 4 years so if you wanna know anything just PM me... You can give me a yell and I can give ya a better run down on things over here... Also, whats your job and what squadron are you going to?
and herk is right... there are a shit ton of strip clubs and they are fairly raunchy too haha... I spent the night in Tumon one week...lol... several times
Well I'm finally here. I have seen 3 GT's but have not got to talk to any mustang guys yet. Anyone here in Guam?
So you've been here for a little while, your car make it here alright? Have you hit the track yet? I havent seen you around yet but Ill be on the look out.
Dont forget The g-spot and Wet kitty lol
I think Vikings was the first spot we hit up when i pulled in there for a mid-deployment upkeep, Damn get you drink women over charge the shit out of you lol.
After 2 weeks though the strip clubs get old and then you just want to find a place where you can get a drink without titties in your face, sad but true.
Beautiful place though, we rented car and drove aorund the whole island only took like 3 hours lol The caves were cool, swimming fishing.
I was only there for a month and i was ready to leave at the end of that month so i feel bad for the guys that get stationed there.
Oh and the local girls are mostly busted and underage. I think guami bears was the term...
I may be getting a job in Guam I'll keep you posted
One of the underrated features there is it is only 5 hours by C-130 to Yokota, and there are several flights a week, so Space-A is pretty easy.
Yeah it is about a 5hr flight but we really dont have too many that head that way. We do have the normal channel C5 and C17 that goes there. But we all know how reliable C5s are though.
strip clubs are pretty week now but still fun.
There are some hotties here but they are shy to talk to Military guys around the local guys. It's a tough crowd, everyone here thinks they are MMA fighters.
Yeah and you gotta watch out for the trannys!
There really are some hotties here...its just finding them. Speaking of MMA fighters...just watch out downtown on nights when they have the PXC fights. Thats when they all turn into MMA fighters.
selling my car here in guam if you guys know anyone looking for one.
Haha its been a while but I'm back.. picking up my new 5.0 friday. More to come
