Hey Fellow Stangheads I needs some help I'm trying to chase down a noise that I ONLY hear when really getting on it. I hear a loud Pop when Outlaw Sally greabs third gear it seem to be coming from the rear. I supect it has something to do with the new Upper Control Arm I had installed as I did have the noise before that. I have checked to make sure everything is tight and it is. Is it possible that the New control are wihich was a Direct (Dorman) Replacement for my 07GT could have a different pinion angle ? Any help would be great as I'm afraid I'm going to break something if I can't find this soon.

It's possible the bolt hole on the differential end of the UCA is a little too big for the bolt and causing some slop. Either that or the differential bushing could be worn.

Well it could be bolt slop that might be it could also be the bushing on the diff housing I'll have to crawl under there and give both of those a good look. Thanks for at least giving me somewhere to look.

If it is the bolt hole I believe Steeda makes some stepped washers that are made for this issue.

I had the same issue, turned out to be a clapped out rear lower control arm bushing. Replaced the rear lowers with the BMR poly bushing ones (with grease fittings) and haven't had an issue. If you still have the stock LCA'S this could be the problem.
