i forgot to take pics of putting friction modifier and gear oil in it. but there is a plug on the drivers side front of the diff to fill it at. put the friction modifier in then fill with gear oil til it comes out the fill hole.

set car on the ground and torque the lug nuts.

This is an amazing write up sir, Thank you. I am going to move it to the DIY section, where it will be more suited. I will leave a redirect here, so others can find it here as well!

great step by step write up. I printed and used this to replace my wheel bearings. Too bad the 1st Ford tech was wrong, it wasn't wheel bearings. But I did get to do this again to replace the pinion bearings. Too bad the 2nd Ford tech was wrong also. By the time I pulled the carrier out to look at the carrier bearings the second time I remembered how to do it. Fortunately I did remember the Ford tech being full of shit after the carrier bearings and races looked perfect.

But this DIY was very helpful and informative. So thanks.

Does anyone know what to torque the cross pin bolt to? I put it at around 5-10lbs.. I had it set at 10 but the wrench never clicked but it was firm plus I didnt want to break it.

Otherwise, clean install. It was alot easier than it seemed, replaced a bent axle, the bearing and seal. The hard part was taking off the watts link parts and putting them back in.
