then fucking cruise control it, or toughen up.

my last car cruise didnt work and I just sucked driving an entire distance by foot, did my ankle get sore? yes, but i didnt think about changing something that could backfire.

My jeep's cruise also doesnt work, but once again, i have no problem driving it for extended periods with only my foot to control.

in other words, it doesnt make sense

Thanks for your input.

seriously, youll fuck up your pedal, itll fall to the floor and go wide open and you will freeze up and forget to hit the clutch<if manual> or just turn the car off and youll cause a crash. then you and everyone you know will complain how mustang's are un-safe and will just lose control for no fucking reason

Do you have some type of muscle disorder in your leg that is causing you to be unable to perform the basic task of maintaining steady pressure on the accelerator for long periods of time.

Are you advanced in years?

Maybe I do and maybe I am. What is your point?

Just trying to understand your need to mess with it

That's all. I've never met someone that needed to lighten the feel of an electronic accelerator pedal

At any rate good luck.

I have to agree with the others. Just seems kinda silly as far as convenience mods go. Seems like you could just use the cruise control a little more. My last 1200 mile trip my cruise wire was unhooked and I never really thought about modding my pedal tension. That was ten hours driving each way. I think you're just opening up a can of worms for nothing.

You need to adjust to throttle return spring. It's really not that bad, just let it uncoil one rotation and you should be fine.

I bet if you remove the high heels it would give you more mechanical leverage and be easier to push the pedal. Just a thought. Come on guys this is obviously a troll sent from MM to fuck around.

Where would this be found? Have a pic available?

Thanks.

:snoopfacepalm:

I've been wanting to use this forever. Thank you for giving me a reason.

If you're not a troll and this is an honest question drive to your nearest Honda dealer, hand them the keys, get into the nearest Prius, and drive away.

I just got back from a round trip 250 miles each way. About half the trip was on cruise control but half was manual. That gas pedal got a little heavy after a couple hours. That is why I want the same response, just a softer pedal. I plan more long distance trips. Make any sense now?

Never mind ... this might be the stupidest thing I have read

You're making a mountain out of a mole hill though. Weren't people bending the metal tabs back or some shit in the pedal for some reason.

As I read it, people were bending the tabs to eliminate the "top slop" that some had on their gas pedals. That had nothing to do with the amount of force needed to depress the pedal.

I don't think those photos apply to an S197. Correct me if I am wrong.

The problem isn't the resistance on the pedal. The problem is keeping your foot on the gas for an extended period of time which will begin to tire your muscles if you aren't used to it.

You have 3 choices.
1 - open up the pedal assembly, put a brick on the pedal, take a torch and heat up the spring.
2 - buy an aftermarket assembly and hope it's easier to push, about $400. Problem with this is that most aftermarket assemblies are stiffer because normally that's what people want to prevent modulation over bumps and rough terrain.
3 - quit being a wussy and man up.
