I think my clutch is going

Got an estimate from Kaspers speed shop...they specialize in mustangs. Centerforce DFX clutch, steel FW, Royal purple in tranny....$1750. Does that sound reasonable?

Told them I plan adding a blower soon. They recommended the Centerforce.

Do some searching in here on clutches. A lot of us are using Mcleod. Exedy is another. And most of us install them ourselves.

I don't have access to a lift right now. Tools are limited also.

I'm a nurse and work night shift. Many times 6 nights a week. I sleep during the day.

Until you think it's slipping, or if it surely isn't performing as good as it used to, I'd really leave it alone if it was me. With no power adder, and with those steep 4.10's, that clutch should last and hold up to alot of abuse for a long time.

Is this a good package since I'm going to put a blower on it in semi near future?

I don't own a shop, so don't hold me to a fire on this.

Personally I think anything more than $350-400 for labor would be too much. The rest is just parts. If you buy the parts yourself, you can take advantage of discounts/deals, and not get charged full list price for them on the bill from a shop.

I have no knowledge about clutches, but I'm quickly learning as I'm reading everything I can. I think I'm going to purchase the McLeod package.

$1750 is just being raped! Like T bird said, $500 or less for labor.

I would ask what the labor charge would be, then strike a deal with them. If they don't go for it, go somewhere else.

If they say no, go somewhere else.
