In car oil pan removal

Anyone ever remove the oil pan on a 05-09 mustang while it’s in the car?

Or unbolt the steering shaft and hang it/tie it under the k member. Although not sure if there's room to do that with a stock k member.

I've gotten mine out without unbolting the steeting shaft. I loosened the K-member bolts to where they barely were holding on and lifted the motor until the intake was against the firewall and had maybe an inch of clearance.

Or unbolt the steering shaft and hang it/tie it under the k member. Although not sure if there's room to do that with a stock k member.

I loosened the steering shaft out of the way when I installed my Kooks LT. I had to remove 1 bolt from the steering rack, IIRC.

If you already have the transmission removed for a clutch service and need a new oil pan gasket….. disconnect steering shaft then unbolt and pull the power steering rack as far forward as you can……oil pan will slide out the rear. No need to lift the engine or use an engine support bar.

Three year correction...that's supposed to say steering "rack" not "shaft". Oops....

Roush TVS up top limited my options to support the engine and lower the k-member.
