Mikes tuning it.

The swap is all done. All the gears work, new ds is on and good. The new clutch is still soft as its bleeding still. 3" exhuast is on. :)

I'm thinking you'll be about 5 hp more. Traded alum fly for steel so that may reduce gains of exhaust?

I dont expect to see any power gains really just want to make sure the a/f is still good since the less back pressure will let the turbo breathe a little better. We shall see.

Have you ever heard your car with dp only? Nothing behind the y pipe. Heard a twin turbo gt500 on youtube with a dumped dp and it sounded good. Thinking about cutout for the track and hell raising.

Never done mine, but I have heard it! I have thought about a cutoff. Or you can just remove it for the track, weight savings too. lol

Yea that wouldn't be too hard to do except I've never been able to remove over the able pipes without a lift.

It can be done Jason...did it when I had the clogged cat by myself, just have to get the car pretty high in the air and all 4 corners off. Jeremy helped on the re-install, it helps to have another set of hands to assist.

Good call greg! I only had the rear up when I tried two years ago. I really want to just drop the pipes for a week to see what I thought. Turbo exhaust ftw! Enough of my ramble can't wait to ride in that thing one day! If ever.

No x or h here. I know what you mean though greg. The wind blowing from outside my garage blows a mouthful a juicyness on me while I get in my car. I start it then move my girls car so I can get out.

you guys with the 6060 are you leaving the stock gears/syncros in the trans? or switching to like a 2.66 or 2.97 first gear and so on for the track?

What gearing is better for the track?

The 6060 first gear is 2.97. All depends on what you want. I have 3.55 gears so the 6060 effectively makes them like 3.27s so its perfect for my turbo setup.

Not to jack your thread, but pertinant info.

I got home this weekend and checked my DSS shaft. I had contacted DriveShaft Shop last week and they thoguht it wouldn't work with the 6060. Well, it will. There is roughly 1 3/8" of travel left in this shaft and based on the rub marks, less than 1/8" of shaft movement during rear end travel. Too bad I ordered a new GT500 shaft after talking to them last week.

So, I now have 2 shafts that fit, and either of them is for sale. A brand new hasn't even been delivered yet GT500 shaft (requires changing the pinion yoke) for $650 or a used 3650 shaft for $450. 3650 shaft is out and everything is as-new. I'm back out of town until next weekend.

I doubt it really matters that much. Where did you get this 2.66 thing from?

The gt500 has a blower and a 6060.

Most guys mess with the rearend gear to get them where they want at the strip not the gearing in the trans.

I was inquiring about upgrading the synchros with a company out of NY and they were telling me about different 1st/2nd and both 5th and 6th overdrive ratios depending on goals.

Thats why i was trying to gain some info from the Tr6060 owners on this forum to see if its really worth it or not.

Gotcha, yeah I have never heard of it myself. With 3.55 gears and the 2.97 first, first gear should top out at around 60mph at 6900rpms. :)

I know i want taller gears for the turbo. Blower guys tend to run steeper.

Picking up the car tommorow! Can't wait to drive the 6-speed! It picked up some peak power too. But who's to say if that was really from the 3" exhuast or not. Made 560rwhp at 12psi and 659rwhp at 16psi. I will look at the old graphs overlayed on the new ones tommorow when we go to the shop.
