Just reached out to him. As I just received my FRPP Throttle Body and should get my "hot rod" cams in the next week.

I minored in Spanish while at the Academy, so I opted to dust off the spanish section of my brain and write to him at a 5th grade level. I'm sure he'll write back in perfect english as tell me I did a good job and he's "proud" of me.

I hope to hear back from him soon. It'll be the first time I break out my SCT reader too.

Just curious if anyone has had recent contact with Lito? Looks like he’s been busy. I sent him a datalog and haven’t heard back for a few days.

He has had problems with his email server last month, and is now in a family vacation through the 22nd.

One of my biggest beefs with the tuners I have used, on multiple platforms, is they don't communicate. How hard would it be to put an "out of office" auto reply on your email noting when you will return? Even better, a mass email to customers currently in the revision stages. Instead, the customer is left to wonder most of the time.

And that situation is especially frustrating when the tuner claims you go to the bottom of the list with each new email. At best, that's a bold faced lie meant to discourage legitimate questions and, at worst, a terrible way to handle business.

The guy actually paying the money is made to feel like a beholden peasant . . . something few other service industries can get away with.

Has anyone heard from him? He stopped replying to my emails for a week now which is weird because he always responds back in a day. Been working with him since 2021 and this is the first time it happens. He hasn’t sent like an automated message like other people have mentioned he does.

Let me know if his replying to you currently or else he just ghosted me lol

Geez. How many times will this come up. Manuel does the tuning as a sideline. He's not Amazon. I've been working with him for years. Sometimes he responds in a day, sometimes two weeks. The worst thing you can do is to hammer him with emails. Always allow him to respond to your last email before you send him another. It keeps a good paper trail as to where you are at with your tune.

Geez, how often will people make excuses for poor communications?

I'm glad for those who have had nothing but great experiences. I was completely ghosted by the guy after paying (twice). Others have reached out to me via private message with the same issues. They're just afraid to post it here or other forums or on Facebook because the fanboys jump all over them. Some of them have been successful in getting their money back via Pay Pal. I don't know if it's 1% or 5% or 10%, but I can tell you it's not 0%.

It always happens the same: The tuner takes longer and longer to reply, leaving the customer wondering.

    • First, it's a week between revisions, and people say, "It's reasonable and worth it."
    • Then, it's a couple of weeks between, and people say, "Be patient, he's one man and busy! Don't be an a-hole!"
    • Then, it's a month or longer and you have to start making contingency plans. Maybe someone speculates he's out of the country or sick or on vacation, but heaven forbid there is actual transparency.
    • The, finally you give up. Meanwhile, your build is on hold waiting and waiting and waiting for months for something that should take 2-3 weeks, start to finish.
Somewhere in there, the tuner will respond once or twice, and you're just grateful to get a revision and hopeful everything is back on track . . . like a peasant that should be grateful for getting crappy service for your money. With that hope, you give it another shot, only to start the cycle over and put the build that much further behind.

Goddam. Fanboys? Jumping all over you? If you think that was jumping all over you, you clearly have not had your ass handed to you lately. I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DANCE OFF! Take that puta madre.

Your post spurred my response, but it was not what I was referring to when I mentioned others jumping on someone who complained. Hell, I wasn't even saying it was me who was being jumped on.

Feel free to work on your reading comprehension, then we'll dance. Maybe dodgeball? If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!

Oh yeah sure. You SAY you'll dance now, but when I call "WALTZ!" you will tremble. And none of that 3/4 time. We're going full on 7/8! I'm going to have Portnoy for a mascot.

I have no experience with Lito, but I do have experience with 1-man operation businesses.

You find a guy who is truly exceptional and delivers in quick fashion. The word spreads, and so does his customer base. As time goes on, he’s in demand, and overwhelmed with work. He does the best he can, but he can’t keep up with demand. Customers become frustrated because service is slower, and the mud-slinging starts.

Nothing to be surprised about, just find another tuner if you can’t afford to wait. That’s just how it works.

Brenspeed emailed my tune in less than 24 hours, and the car ran like a giant turd. They didn’t even give a shit when I asked for help. Then, Lito tuned it correctly over the course of a couple of days, and it runs great.
    Yeah, I’m a fanboy.

You have to remember that Lito’s country is now a 3rd world country, hell it’s basically communist! Things are still not good there. The fact he is still able to run a business at all is a testament to his fortitude.
