Hey guys, so for my Mustang to be street legal in Germany I need to add rear foglights, which itself isn't a big problem. Already worked that out.

The Problem is I need somewhere to mount the switch and since I don't just wanna drill a hole somewhere I decided to look around a bit and found that the 08-09 Taurus X does have the same headlight switch (at least the cover) as the Mustang but with a extra hole for the pedal adjustment. A buddy of mine could 3D print a button for it and I would wire it up for a factory look.
The part number for it is 8F9Z-11654-JA (its with automatic pedals and foglights but without automatic headlights)

If anyone can help me find that part preferrably new or used but very good condition I would gereatly appreciate it.

Rear fog lights. I guess if you're going in reverse. Whatever.

As for a place to put a button, if you pop out the light switch controller, you'll see it has some space on the sides, if you want to punk a hole through there to mount a switch. Other good place for infrequently-used switches is in the glove-box. The little panel that pops out for adjusting the parking brake cable makes a great place to mount buttons/switches. I would avoid poking any holes in your dash panels as they are incredibly hard to fine and expensive as heck, so be super careful if you do. The light switch thing itself, however, is fairly available.

Its a requirment for when you can see less than 50m infront of you during heavy fog and ONLY then. Its basically a way brighter rear light that can actually blind people when used during no fog, so people don't rear end you during heavy fog.

I can't just mount the switch anywhere. I need a indicator light for it being active which in the best case would be the switch itself, so it has to always be in sight and I need to wire it in a way were it only turns on when the front fogs are active aswell.

Like I said I don't wanna put holes ANYWHERE and then just slap in a random switch. I want it to look factory. That's why I want the specific Taurus X Switch Controller WITH fogs and WITH adjustable pedals but WITHOUT auto headlights. It's the exact same as the Mustang with just another Button hole, plus if I have the pedal switch aswell I can pull off the button face and have a buddy 3D Print 2 new button faces in half the size and wire them in a way to make the lower contact the fog button and the upper a trunk popper.

I appreciate the Input BUT I just need help getting that part because we already have that planned out the way I want it.

With both trunk pop and pedals:

And with just trunk pop:
Seen those already but aren't they too large to fit? Alot wider than the Mustang Switch. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted here lol

Actually that helped me lol because under "similar Items" there was the same switch but with a different part number (8F9T 14K147 JAW) and with that I found a brand new one.

Here for anyone that wants to make a factory looking Trunk Popper:

I know you want to keep the factory look but if you can't get another switch panel in there you can add some switches without it looking too bad.

Okay so this is what arrived.... it's definitely not new (which is annoying because I ordered a new one) but its the right size and all the switches can be replaced so somebody can probably get a OEM trunk button and swap it in.

I want two buttons anyways so I'll repurpose the Pedal buttons insides.

Now I just have to still get a decent one because this one has some REALLY deep scratches and if I wanted that I could have payed way less....

I’m curious how it fits the dash as well. Does the headlight and dimmer light switch plug in to the mustang harness?

I don't know, the car is still on its way to germany lol. Currently in between Belgium and the UK. But the assembly is 12,5cm wide and 7cm tall if that helps.

I don't think Ford will have made different ones but it's swappable. Only thing I haven't been able to swap or just get out is the light switch itself, since I haven't found out how to get the dial part that you actually twist sperated from the rest.....

Not the prettiest solution
And this is the reason I'm even putting in all that effort because that is the exact opposite of what I wanna do.....

Okay I figured it out.... since I got the money back from the eBay seller and he didn't want the switch back I took it apart. There is actually no reason to ever take the dial out since all the electronics are in the white piece which comes out on its own.

Does the headlight and dimmer light switch plug in to the mustang harness?
So coming back to that Question.... if not one can swap it.

And since you need to force the grey part off the dial you are very likely to break where it clips into.
You should be able to reuse it but if you pull REALLY hard for the fog lights you can probably pull the dial out again.
Like I said no reason to do that other than curiostiy.

So if my light switch or anything else in this ever goes out I don't have to replace the whole bezel piece which is good because I could still use some help finding a very good or better condition bezel switch combo if the fine people of this forum would be able and willing to help me out lol
