Looking into putting together a MIR track rental in the spring

Spoke with Mike Rousch at Mid Atlantic Performance about sponsoring a track rental in the spring; I looked at MIR's web site and for 2011 they opened in early March; I think March would be too cold and was thinking in April.

Since Mike would be sponoring this he would be the tech guy as well so there would not be the debacle we had to deal with at VMP.

I would think we could get a good showing from the VA/MD crowd....and the more cars we get the cheaper it will be.

For those that have watched/have run at MIR you know what kind of a kick ass track prep they do.

This would be open to all cars, not just S197's.

I recommend doing it on a Friday so we have MIR to ourselves; if we did it on a Sat/Sun we would have to share the track with test and tune cars....if I am going to drop money for that I prefer it to be a private track rental on a Friday.

If you are interested in it let me know what day/month works for you.

I will also look into a group rate for local hotels since that would be a long day since it would be a 3 hours drive up, all day racing and then 3 hour drive back for the VA guys.

April is better for me, since I'll be pulling the '05 out of storage in March and getting it ready for another season of track duty.

April's temps are about right too (mid 50s: March is usually 10* cooler). I'd happily do it in March though if the price point works better for you.

I would go up there even to just get pics of the Saleen on the track. Provided someone is going to be taking pics of mine instead of me taking pics of everyone elses runs, LOL!!!
