For the last few years I have been wanting to build a big pickup to tow our shops 40' enclosed race trailer. I finally decided on a 1988 International S1900. It is powered by a rebuilt DT466 and a 10 speed Eaton Fuller tranmission. I picked the truck up on Monday and already started the build.

Yesterday,
I installed 24.5 polished Alcoa wheels, removed the 5th wheel hitch, degreased the frame and undercoated it.

Today,
I purchased the 2007 dually bed that was on my old F350. We made brackets and just finished installing it.

The distance between the cab and the box is 26". Now, I need to find an old 24" Coffin Sleeper and mount that in the space. Then, it's off to paint.
After the paint is done, I am going to install dual chrome stacks, install a HX40 or HX50 turbo, and make some adjustments to the pump. On a conservative tune, it should make 350hp and 1200 ft lbs. Right now, it looks wierd. But once the gap between the cab and bed is gone, I'm pretty sure that it will be cool.

Nice! Id go hx50 on the turbo. Your egts on the hx40 would be a little high and with the 466 it will have no problem spooling the 50.

You'll want more power even after you turn up the pump. Lol

Unfortunatly, that's how it always works. I need to keep the EGT's under control though. I plan to tow construction equipment with it too so I can't get to crazy. I spoke with Hypermax last week. He seems to be the DT466 go to guy. He says the stock engine will take 600 hp, 1600 ft lbs, 4500 RPM's and live a long life. His DT466 dragster makes around 2700 HP.

Nice. Why did you go with a very small sleeper, instead of a larger one and shortening the bed since your not ising the 5th wheel?

Damn you tapatalk!

Marc you may as well just twin turbo yours and shoot for 550hp. Lol. That thing moves. The comments for the most part are just retarded though.

Now, I'm toying with the idea of buying a second truck bed and cutting 24" off of the front of it. Then add it to the front of my dually bed. Basically, making my bed 10' long.

Here is a photoshop pic.
