I recently bought a 2005 GT and it has quite a few mods done to it.
Cam swap, rear-end, Hurst speed shifter, headers and full exhaust.

I was hoping to grab a tuner and update the settings for the rear-end so I can calibrate the speedometer.

The problem is I don't have the stock tune and I'm not sure if the new programmers are capable of downloading the modified tune so I can back it up in case something was to go awry. Or heck, even if they're capable of downloading a tune that doesn't match the device.

It's definitely not worth bricking the car to fix the speedometer.
    What are my options?

Hp tuners is the only option to read, modify, and reflash current tune.
Diablosport InTune can modify "stock" tune if it can read it. It may not.
Pay Ford dealer to set gears/tires in VID block. This will only work if the tune is using the vid block for gears. And they may 'accidentally' reflash to stock.

That's my worry is having the tune flashed back to stock.
With the cam setup, CAI, headers, I presume it's going to run extremely lean and\or set off the knock sensors.

I was hoping maybe I could find the previous owner on one of these forums.
If someone recognizes the car, please let me know.

The cams aren't overly aggressive, but it definitely has some lope to it. (don't mind the exhaust rattle, I fixed that already)

If you get e new tuner you can use your current tune as the stock tune. When I switched from Diablo to SCT, I used my BAMA tune in the car as my stock tune for the SCT.

Wont work with SCT. Yes, it will save any tune as stock, but there aint shit you can do to it.
The only real option I see for the OP is to find a shop who tunes with HP. And just have the gears fixed. And can keep the current tune.

I take it you did not receive a tuner with the car, any chance you can track down the previous owner, he could have those files saved to a PC?

Negative, the tuner wasn't included unfortunately.
I'm trying to find out from the guy I bought it from. He got it from an auction.
    Hopefully that'll pan out.

This is the route I'll likely take.
There's a solid tuner scene around here so I'll reach out to some of them. Thank you!

It’s a real dickhead move to sell a modified car without the tuner.

So FORscan, that application sounds promising.

I should be able to download all my tune\module data for a back, then modify the wheel size \ rear gear ratio. Has anyone used that before?

I do not believe Forscan can modify gear ratio on the 05-09(10?)s.

Good question, I've been trying to confirm that unsuccessfully so far.

I believe the car is compatible but idk to what extent.

I'm going to link up to it and see what options are shown.
