Folks I’ve got a conundrum. I broke the back trunk panel on my ‘13 GT. I had planned to wrap it but that’s not working out so I decided to order a replacement OEM panel. This is the gloss black panel between the tail lights that carries the faux “GT” gas cap badge. When I go into the on-line parts suppliers I get part number AR3Z-6342528-F but the accompanying photos of the part show a textured and ribbed panel similar to the license plate panel. If I try to order this part number I’m told it has been discontinued. I can’t believe the OEM part is actually no longer available so I believe I have the wrong part number. Does anyone know the correct or maybe a superseded part number?? TIA!

This is what I come up with: DR3Z-63423A42-CA

PM me your VIN and I can filter it for your specific car.

Thanks, yeah I was looking at a Trufiber Carbon fiber panel, but the issue with that, and the one you linked above, is that the round, raised metal under the faux cap has to be cut out for it to lie flat. I’m a little intimidated to cut on the body.

I'm thinking about it, getting braver after watching a couple of youtube videos. I've got the requisite dremel tool and metal cutting disks already. If I go that way, I'll buy the Trufiber panel that accepts the OEM faux GT cap. It's also about $100 cheaper than the OEM DR3Z-63423A42-CA, which is a plus.

I understand, the badge there is just so iconically Mustang though, that I want to retain it.

Update: I received my Trufiber LG42 carbon fiber rear deck lid panel last night and it turns out the way it's designed, it fits without cutting any metal from the trunk. The GT badge (faux cap) required lots of cutting though. I had to cut the two locating prongs, the raised ridge around the edge and all of the little clips and other protrusions from the back side of it in order to make it sit flush. Plenty of 3M heavy duty double sticky tape will hold it fine. Photos soon as I ran out of light last night.
